I'm running 4Runner TRD Pro Wheels... I don't remember what the backside of these wheels looks like.. ugh.

I think most cast wheels use the cutouts on the mounting surface to reduce weight; pretty much every set I've seen has the pockets cutout that would clear extended studs.

With that said, I really only cut the round non-threaded part of the studs off and didn't really lose any threads. Somewhere between 1/8" to 1/4"?

It's really hard to find a pic of the backside of the 4Runner TRD Pro Wheel... finally found a video on youtube (88Rotors). Looks like I should be good with the 0.75" spacers.sema_backside.jpg

Well, after weeks of deliberating, these billet kmcs aren't the wheels for this Tacoma. I love them as wheels but I can't get the tires to fully clear fenders due to offset and they are too blingy.

I was debating painting them but I decided it's best to sell them to someone that likes them for what they are.

I'm going to back to something a little more subtle, XD134s, black with machined face. This is a photochop of what I ordered on my my truck.

I'll make money on the sale of these, so it just kind of washes out.

    Ok, here's an update.

I decided that I didn't like the bling of the polished over time. They were just too much. So, I decided I would keep them intact and sell them to someone else that would love them as is. I then got a good deal on some KMC Addict 2s and figured what the helll. I figure the silver face + not as blingy would be great.

I bolted them on. I hated them on my truck instantly; it was like an oh fuck I hate them moment. The truck is too tall for the setup, and the 11.5 wide tires are too narrow on 8.5" 0 offset wheels to pull it off. Something doesn't work at all. I think if the truck was lower on this setup it would look a lot better. These wheels would look good on a 33" + 2-3" lift combo, I think particularly for a 4runner because they kind of look like those 17" 4runner wheels.

    IMG_20200921_184154~3.jpg

So, next I immediately pondered just putting the polished KMCs back on and being done with it but I still don't like the bling factor. I spent days deciding what to do. Then I considered painting or powdercoating. I was kind of stuck on gunmetal, but I don't like gunmetal + cement personally. It's too close in color and yet off enough to look off to me.

So, then I did some photochopping and settled on a solution. I used SCS Ray 10s with the existing beadlock ring to get the same offset/look as what's on there. Semigloss black powdercoating FTW. I know it goes against everything these wheels stand for, but they're going to look AMAZING.

    Here's black vs. polished.

And the black. I dropped them off this morning. We'll see how they look next week.

Ok back from powder. Plan is to get them reinstalled and then work with OMF to get bolt on machined beauty rings with cool hardware.

Next order of business now that I have the wheels back. One of the really cool thing about the wheel stiffeners is I can make them look exactly like real beadlocks. So, I'm going to add these countersunk anodized aluminum washers with anodized body bolts to all of the small holes in each ring (18 each wheel).

    ALL18654__20914.1534798897.jpg

I will also add these TRD metal caps to some KMC center caps flush with the wheel.

It will end up something like this.
