Thanks you guys. I religiously Fluid Filmed except for last year, and have not done it so far this year. I think it is true that it keeps the mice away. I need to apply it again in the next couple of days. I’ll try some of those electronic Victor mouse traps under the hood as well. And throw poison pellets under the truck.

i park my truck in an open bay of my shop. only three sides are enclosed. every night i pop the hood and place an LED work light in the engine compartment pointing down the firewall and another light underneath pointing up along the transmission area. i also have an owl replica on the ground nearby that you can buy at a farm and feed store.

there is no one solution but for me the bright light works best. i prefer to trap and deter, rather than poison them. the bait or poison attracts them, and dead mice attract more mice. also, sometimes other critters get into the poison. i am not a fan of the bait and poison.

Traps and poison it’s the only way. I had a GMC Sierra that was a magnet for mice and chipmunks. Called in JP Pest up here in New England and the mice and chipmunks were just about gone. The chipmunks hid buckets of acorns in the engine compartment. Always had a fear of an acorn fire. The mice built nests in the ventilation system, they got chewed up by the fan several times had to fabricate a screen of expanded metal to block the little bastards. Good like to you.

Mice and rats learn traps you must change from spring to glue then a bucket then another method, traps only catch the slow old and dumb ones

Go to Tractor Supply buy a 5 gallon bucket and a gallon of molasses.
Make a ramp to it and it's a DIY rodent tar pit.
    Plus the Fluid Film.:bucket::crapstorm:

    FWIW.
Dealing with this stuff in the shop I will pass this on.
    Use traps only.
Poison makes them go hide when they don’t feel good.
And they hide real well in your vehicle.
They bleed, decompose, and it’s a nightmare.
It’s bad enough they get in but try to let them be caught where you can
    remove them.
Not much reliably keeps them away.
I’ve seen them use repellent bags as nesting material.

A dead, poisoned mouse brings it up a whole new level..

I have 2 of these under the hood.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081NDPJD4?ie=UTF8&th=1

One on each side. I use rechargeable C Batteries and rotate them every 2 weeks. Haven’t had any issues in over 3 years. Now the Christmas lights at my house are another story this year. I noticed some lights out the other night and found that power cord had been chewed through. No mistaking the teeth marks on the wire.

Yep. A mouse is going to take one look at this greasy, grimy mess and say nah, I don't think so!

I’ve been using two of those ultrasonic rodent repellers for a few years now, zipped tied under the hood and pointing downwards into both rear sides into the engine compartment. They seem to have been working as advertised; though I think that the last year of no Fluid Filming has been more at fault to prevent the mice from climbing the tires/lower suspension.

I’m set tomorrow to start Fluid Filming my truck, it’ll be at 46 degrees though and I’d rather have it warmer. The cans of Fluid Film will be heated though, so at least the application from the spray can will be efficient.

I also installed two of those Victor Electronic traps under my hood this afternoon, one on top of the air cleaner and one on top of the fuse box cover, using Velcro. I was curious as to how much voltage they put out; I tested with my multimeter and they zap the mice at almost 200 volts. Not bad for four AA batteries.

Pure peppermint oil, get it in the baking section.
I live next to a horse barn, 3 of our 4 vehicles had mice a couple years ago. Take a medicine dropper and put a couple drops on the insulation twice a month or so. I also tied a metal lint trap filled with tea bags where it won't cause problems and it gets the drops too, directly on the bags.
Mice don't like tea or peppermint. Cat piss also works great. When my daughter lived here I had her save the used litter for me and tossed a cup under the cars occasionally.
I had 3 electric zippers in the garage at one point but they couldn't keep up.
