I bought the TRD Pro/SEMA Replica Wheels

I couldn't find much info on these replica wheels, so I decided to pull the trigger and try a set for myself. The price was hard to beat and I wanted a wider wheel than OEM offered. The Toyota wheels like this are ~$800 and are only 7" wide. I didn't want to go narrower than my stock Sport wheels which are 7.5" wide. I paid $584 for the set with center caps and shipped to my house for free in 5 days. They also include a one year warranty on the finish.

Stock Wheels: 17x7.5 with a +30mm offset and weighed in at ~32lbs.

Replica Wheels: 17x8 with a +15mm offset and weighed in at ~24lbs.

According to an online wheel offset calculator, this new wheel configuration sticks out ~.9 inches further from the wheel well vs the stock setup. They sit just at the very edge of the fender flares. Not a huge change from stock, but I can tell they are just a bit further out. I am running on 265/70-17 Falken Wild Peak AT3s.

I got them in gunmetal grey and they look great out of the box. No scratches or blemishes. They are hub centric fit and use the stock flat washer style lugnuts. My TPMS sensors fit with no problem. They balanced just fine with stick on weights. The finish seems durable, but I guess time will tell. They are a shade darker than I thought they would be. More on that later...

    Here's some before and after:

I think they're a tad too dark for my Silver Sky Metallic paint... What do you guys think? I want to tie them into the truck a little better. I'm going to paint my grille emblem and chrome badges today in the same gunmetal color as the wheels and see if I like it. I'm also thinking of getting the bedside decals in the same gunmetal color. Hit me up if you have any other ideas of how to make them blend with my truck a little better.

I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about these replica wheels.

All new under the floor, factory frame swap. Bucket seat swap. Bilstein 4600 shocks and X Runner rear swaybar. 4:10 DIfferential. 225/60/17 on Sienna 5 spoke alloy wheels. After market black headlights. OE replica fog lights. OE Intermittent wipers plug and play. Leather steering wheel (OE eBay) that came with a cruise stalk, I bought the $38 OE wire to plug into the clock spring, plug and play.
Those look really good, especially in a darker shade than your truck, they don't have to match. Contrast is good. All wheel makers have a different definition of Gunmetal. A bonus is that they're significantly lighter than the stock wheels.
    Where did you get them?

Can you give some more details on where you got them? I’m in a similar boat that I like a lot of the OEM designs but for me the whole point of new wheels is to get a wider rim.

Thanks! I didn't want them to necessarily "match" my truck, but would like to tie them in a little better. I'm hoping that the little touches like doing the emblems in gunmetal will help. I'm also thinking of getting the TRD decals for the center caps in black possibly.

I actually purchased them off eBay. I know, I know! I took a chance. There are several sellers offering them, but I went with "eurowheelsusa". They actually answered a few questions for me before I purchased them and have 100% positive feedback. They told me the finish was warrantied for one year.

Darker greys look better on silver streak trust me on that one. I like the look kinda cleans up how bright the stock silver is.

eBay purchase from "eurowheelsusa" user. They also offered them in 17x9, with +5mm offset, but I didn't want them too far out of the wheel wells to chip paint... The online offset calculator I used said those would stick out almost 2" over stock and would be a little heavier too. I'm sure it would look cool, though.

That's what I said. That's why I wanted 17x8s. The stock TRD Sport wheels are 17x7.5. I didn't want to go narrower.

Thanks! I looked forever for some aftermarket wheels that I liked, and thought would "fit" the overall style of the truck. I was looking at some different style bronze wheels, but finally decided to get these.

I saw those....really tempting. They actual make them in 20's too but 20's on the Gen 2 is hit or miss. I like the 18's. Good choice.

I saw the 20s, as well. I'm with you, I think they wouldn't look right on a Tacoma and I also already had pretty new tires. I didn't want to buy new tires to go along with the wheels. I'll stick with the 17s.

20's on a 2nd gen are definitely a matter of personal taste. And if you're going off road, they don't work at all. But, since I never go off road ...

Thanks for sharing. I'm looking to switch out of stock wheels currently. Are you sure your stock 17x7.5 alloy wheels weight 32lbs each? Did you weight them? I actually weighted my stock 16x7 alloy and it was 20 lbs plus few ounces to be exact. Granted your stock is a tad bigger, but can't imagine a difference of twelve pounds unless they are steelies.

Agree with others... current color scheme is good.

I weighed the replica wheels by standing on a bathroom scale. It wasn't digital, but I weighed right at 180lbs by myself. I picked up the wheel (in the box) and I was at 205lbs. I subtracted a pound for the box, packing material, etc. = (24lbs)

Once I had the wheels swapped out, I had the original stock wheels in the same boxes. I stepped on the scale with one of those and we weighed in at 213lbs. I subtracted a pound again for the box, etc. = (32lbs)

I might have gained or lost a pound or so in the day I weighed the old wheels vs the new wheels, but I can tell you that there was a noticeable difference between the two when moving the boxes in and out of my truck.

You might want to check those again. You may have misread your scale. I don't see a way that any stock wheel would weigh 20lbs. I bet it was 30lbs. There's a thread on here somewhere about all the different stock wheel sizes, offsets, and weights.

Now I like that look. Just need to lower it a little bit. I'll let myself out now. :anonymous:
