I hope you will find this post helpful if you are thinking of purchasing the Husky Mudflaps.

My main reason for buying them was to replace the stock mudflaps with shorter units. I achieved that in the front but only slightly in the rear. Basically the front are 3.5" shorter and the rears are .5" shorter. I was really hoping for more in the rear.

The units are very sturdy molded plastic. They line up really well so I would say fit is very good for aftermarket. I did not use their hardware, I used the 3 mount screws from the factory mudflaps and christmas tree type fasteners from my parts stash.

The Husky Mudflaps also came with 4 clear protection strips that you install on the fender prior to installing the mudflap. Very nice touch I think.

I have added pics to this thread and have placed titles within the pics so you know what I am referring to.

Overall I am happy but I do wish the rears were a bit shorter.

Was your paint worn away from the mud flaps upon removal of the OEM ones. If so did these cover up the paint wear?

My truck only has 1200 mi so no wear yet. If there were wear, these would have covered it.

I forgot to mention that the Husky Mudflaps came with 4 clear protection strips that you install on the fender prior to installing the mudflap. Very nice touch I think. I updated my OP.

Couldn't you have just trimmed the stock mud flaps?

Could have. Apparently he, and I, prefer the look and feel of the Husky mud flaps. I only did the front, and much prefer them to a chopped stock flap. To each their own.

I love mine. Definitely worth the money, and only like half the price of the stock replacements.

That is basically the reason plus one day I will take it back to stock to trade or sale so I will have uncut mudflaps to put back on.

How ridgid do the huskys feel? Do they feel like you'd rip the whole fender flare off if you snagged a rock or stick? Or do they have plenty of give like the stock ones?

Thank you for making this thread!

I mean, like the stock mud flap, the majority of the mounting points are on the inner part of the wheel well and not on the actual flare (I think only 2 of like 6 are on the actual flare), so if you snagged something I doubt it would rip off the flare. Most people who rip off their flares from my experience aren't running mud flaps in the first place. The Husky flaps are stiffer, but again, I don't think you have to worry about them ripping off the flares if snagged because of the mounting location.

Tried the weathertech ones and they were so rigid that i was afraid to run them....its not worth ruining a fender just to have less paint chips and less mud flinging.

Sold my OEM ones to a fellow TW member in need of a set.

They feel exactly the same as OEM to me. My stock ones would drag on the rounded curb at the end of my driveway when I backed in, drove me nuts.

i was backing up while i was hunting and basically pinched my oem passenger front mudflap between a ledge and the tire and it left the plastic area with the mounting hardware attached to the truck and the flap on the ground.
i replaced all 4 flaps with huskys and am completely happy with them.
