After reading that the Hummer EV weighs over 9000 pounds, I started
wondering what the vehicle weight fee would be in Washington state.
I don't know if there will be an EV rebate on it but I wonder if it would offset the
weight fee for registration? Or would the owner pay the same as 2 mid-sized SUV's?
    I'm just curious.

I would bet they would wave the fee since they’re all so hard pressed to get people to buy EVs these days.

So many of these states are pledging to be carbon neutral by (insert date).

Owch, now that's some serious (road) damage.

At least Oregon charges EVs extra for registration.

Diesel trucks like the ford 6.7 weigh in at over 11k lbs depending on the series but none of the big trucks come in under 9k and they are all over the place. Why is the weight of this turd any concern?

You might be thinking about Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 11k lbs when thinking a 6.7L Ford truck weighs that much. For instance my 1 ton is rated at 11500, but curb weight is 7700 lbs.

Probably but we had one in the shop the other day that we couldn’t put on the floor lift because it was to heavy. I think it was about 10500 and the lift maxs at 10k. I just don’t see that it matters being there are things close to and heavier. I do think it’s nothing more then a status symbol though. To me an electric vehicle should be all about efficiency otherwise what’s the point and that thing seems more like a toy for rich d bags

Some of the trucks with work boxes and lifts, etc can get pretty heavy and absorb all the GVWR.

Careful…never know who owns an EV on the other side of the keyboard. o_O It’s coming as painful as it is for me to say. The other day I was reading an article in my industry newsletter on what it will take for charging stations in my city (Colorado Springs, CO) by 2035. The article suggested the forecast will be 35-60,000 level 3 chargers. Right now a level 3 charging station (could have up to 6-8 chargers) costs up to 50,000.00 to install. We have around 150 now. 600A services are not easy to install.
