I am going to replace my CV axles with some new ones from CVJ this afternoon and after reading some of the write ups done on this, I have a question regarding the socket size for the hub nut. Some write ups state that it is a 35 MM sockets and some say 36 MM socket.

Can someone let me know what size I need to buy. I found a 35 MM at the local Carquest, but they didn't have a 36 MM.

For anyone else wondering about this, it is in fact a 35 MM. The 35MM fit perfect on the hub nut!

Most are 35mm but there are 36mm out there. I have seen them. I believe some rebuilds/Chinese aftermarket slipped the 36's out into the world.

Yes, I think some cheap/aftermarket axles come with 36mm's but you can still use the OEM nut.

Yea, I mentioned it so folks "might" be inclined to check first. It would suck to do a trail repair confidently equipped with a 35 just to find it would not fit.

Yes again, years ago I originally got a 36mm and used it on dozens of 35mm nuts (father of the Boot Slide). It didn't seem all that loose at all.
