I’ve got a rod holder that I put on a bed rail with T slot nuts. Hold three rods vertical. Just remember to remove them before going into the garage.

I've got 2 rods tucked behind the headrests of the back seat. They are broken down of course

Why I am thinking about that?
1,don't like move bed tonneau cover. rod holder is hard to set
2,It's easy to touch something when fishing rod seat too high or too long. When you make a turn in a small trail the rod will catch branch.

Those tubes are pretty cool. I don't see it listed anywhere on RCI's website though.

    Not Enough.
Not the best picture, but I use a Yakima roof rack with ski/snowboard carriers. I carry 6-7 rods/reels between 7'-13' and they're locked to the truck. Never had an issue, highway speeds, off road, etc. And I've got some pricey rods. Hell that bright green one there on the right is a $700 rod/reel combo, so if I didn't trust it, I wouldn't do it. It clamps on when I want to use it, and I take it off and throw it in the corner of the garage when I'm done. I can snap some more pictures when I load up to go fishing this weekend.

Another option, buy a boat and put them in it. I discovered that I CAUGHT MORE FISH after I got a boat.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
ARE makes stupid overpriced ‘rod pods’ if you can’t DIY

I did this for a bit. Buy 6” pvc pipe to length and conduit caps on Amazon for a cheap DIY. Only bummer is how many fit depends on reel type/size.

REESE Carry Power 7054900 TransRack Conduit Carrier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2HP1A4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CMHTCbMCGBVGY

This is what I use to do with my 1 pieces that we’re too long. Downside is they’re in the weather but if you’re good about maintenance it wouldn’t much matter.

I'll try to remember to snap some better pictures when I load up Friday Morning.

They live inside my house except for maybe 20 days a year if I'm lucky enough to get to the beach that much. Always cleaned and oiled after every trip, and before drum tournament time in the fall. Couple days in the sun/salt/sand/wind/rain won't hurt them.

I can fit a bundle of two 8-foot rods and a bunch 7 footers inside the cab: positioned diagonally -- from the passenger floor to the rear area behind the driver seat. Not so great if you've got a passenger, but perfect for my solo trips to the marina. Might occasionally flex the tip a little on the 8-footers, but I've never broken the tip off a quality rod.

For my fly rods, I just pop one of the segments and fold it over on itself. They travel well and I can leave them rigged.

Alternately, you can put the base of the rods inside the cab and let them hang out the sliding rear window.

I made a conduit carrier like the one on page 1 of this thread. Bought the Reese kit from Amazon for $50 or so, then just buy a 10ft. Schedule 40 PVC and you're in business.

I'm assuming 1 piece saltwater rods... so use a rod pod.

My spin rods go in the rear door and fly rods stay in their case under my rear platform.
