I managed to do mine without pulling it. Not easy at all, but can be done. There are no locking clips on the relay.

Flasher relay was not clipped in. Bit of a deep socket "like" connection. Just pull straight. Deep behind that fuze box. Need nimble fingers.

The Napa EP 35L worked for me.

    Step 1) install new relay
Step 2) turn on hazards (all yellow hazard/turn signals turn on. None blinked for me during this step.)
    Step 3) deselect hazards
Step 4) select turn signal (I selected left turn)... no blinking yet, still solid lights.
Step 5) wait for system reset to standard turn signal blinking pattern. Might need to wait for 15-30 second with solid turn signals, deselect turn, then select again. Should be functioning normally.
Step 6) check hazards for standard blinking

    Just worked for me.

1999 3.4 V6 TRD: I bought an LED flasher from Superbrightleds that was listed as working for my truck. When I put all LEDs in the turn signals, I got no response at all. I did blow the flasher fuse repeatedly, as well as the horn/hazard fuse.

Did you have any issues with getting the right flasher?

I had this problem and was not able to get a solution for it.

The front I was able to get the LEDS to work but not the rears on the stock flasher.

I blow a few fuses trying too and burnt up a flasher.
And tried two different flashers for LEDS. didn’t work!.

My situation I thing is that I have a trailer wire harness attached to my harness,
But when I added the new LED tail light kit Anzo that has a special black box then they work now with that kit.

-Yes, it took some deeper research, but the flasher relay listed above solved all my issues.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
What year did they start using a turn signal relay??

As far as I can tell my truck only has a Flasher I am used to the older mid eighties Toyota`s that used a Flasher

Just installed the novita ep35 in my 99 and it worked perfectly - every bulb swapped to led. My fuse box looked a little different than shown in some posts so I thought I'd post here in case someone else puzzles over the blue integrated relay box, like I did. The flasher module is behind the fuses at the very top of the panel - the larger of the two modules that are at the top.

Thank you for the video. I just replaced my turn signal bugs with LED and a Diode Dynamics module on my 2001 Toyota PreRunner. I googled the module location and your video came up on the search (the whole thread, in fact) Took me less than 5 minutes to do the module. I did not have to remove anything, just pulled the old module and pushed the DD one in. (small hands helped a lot... ;-) )
