how to replace lower arm ball joint

im having trouble replacing the lower ball joint on my tacoma 2015. does anyone know how to replace this???

 

Tried this on a buddies truck.....ended up having a shop press it in

 

Ball joint press and a hell of an impact wrench will do the trick. Easy. Or buy a whole new lower control arm.

 

I too failed at getting the ball joint out myself and had a shop press it out and install the replacement.

 

yeah im having problems removing the metal ontop of the ball joint and the bottom metal attacked to the bolt

 

Damn, you need a new ball joint on a 2015 already.

Due to the boot damage or did that get ruptured during the removal process?

 

it got rupture while offroading in san felipe.

 

Big flathead on both sides of the clip and a hammer with get that off. You will likely need an impact wrench to pull the piece that connects to the spindle.

 

Its not worth the time or trouble. For stock lowers, Get the Dorman replacement lower control arm with ball joint already pressed in it. they are around $120
