How to replace broken 1st Gen cup holder with photos

Here is the replacement holder from Amazon for $19.99

1) Put air controls in center of face plate and remove the knobs. Note: The AC button will fall out, just put it back in its slot when you put the faceplate back on

2) Gently pry the face plate off with a flat screwdriver (there are no screws on the face plate)

3) There are only two screws holding the cover in place. The left screw is angled upwards, the right side screw is straight in

4) Toss out the old cup holder and slide in the new one

Does this cup holder actually lock into place and when you pull it out does it work just like the original one?

 

Yes but don't forget the two white plastic clips at the end of it will slide back out
