My h4 bulb went out and need replacement. How do i remove that dang black rubber seal around the bulb? Do you get a screwdriver and pry it out? Does it pop out? Or do you need to turn it?

the black rubber boot just pops off than unplug the power wire. There is a little clip on the bulb that holds it in place. Be careful not to just yank that the clip off bc it will break very easily. than the bulb should just slide out.

For some reason, that rubber boot sticks onto the bulb with the devil's grip. I had the same issue. It would not come off. When I did was pull the rubber boot back far enough, to unclip the bulb.

Then I remove the bulb and boot together.

The rubber boot is supposed to come off without being attached to the bulb. It's stuck to it by old dielectric grease.

    Bump!!

Did a search and followed a link from another thread to here. Changed both headlights since my driver side decided to go out on me last night. I tell ya..that rubber boot can be tricky but nothing a vice grip won't fix :)

:bananadance::yay::dancingbacon: Yay to TW  I know I know it's in your manual. Bought my truck used so previous owner "lost" the manual. That's what TW is for ;)

Just thought I'd share..."cool story bro.."
