Well I look on the Toyota site for my truck and it just says "TO V6 Tow Package
    Factory"

I called the dealer and they said it has a Towing package and is rated for 3500lb

Well either you have the 4 cylinder or your dealer is an idiot.

2018 is when the towing package became standard on all V6 Tacoma's. Not sure on 4 cyl though. Towing is typically around 6500 lbs give or take 300 for the V6 tow models.

3rd gen v6 Tacoma's have a towing cap of 6400 to 6700# depending on options/configuration. And the OR comes with the v6 and not the i4 so something does not add up.

Look on your door post sticker. Look for this code. ( Yours may not be the same as mine ) Then look in the owners manual, a chart can be found on page 174, to 176. The tow capacity is there.20200612_133416.jpg

2016 and 2017, V6 tow package was an option in Canada. 2018 and later they were standard. When I bought, there were trucks on the lot that did not have tow packages and were V6.

So based on this information, and your previous questions about tow package equipment, you would have a towing capacity of 6700lbs. If you didn't have the tow package, you would have a 3500lbs capacity.

I've got the grn305L 3,500 or 6,400 on a trailer without brakes and 8,250 or 11,280 on a trailer with brakes.

So I really don't know which, if I have a factory towing package I guess it's the larger number.

If you seriously can tow 8 to 11,000 trailer with brake I really don't see this happening all to well. I've towed 3,500# with it today and it's a dog even with ETC up hills. I can definitely see why you would want a trans and oil cooler screaming high rpms to get them to tow.

3500 and 6400 lbs is just the weight of the trailer with out towing package and with towing package. 8250 and 11280 is GCWR, that is truck and trailer weight combined.
