(New to truck and to the baby.. and by baby I mean actual child not the truck as I've been corrected by my wife)

Does anybody know if we can install a baby bucket in the middle seat and how?
I tried reading the manual but it doesn't seem to explain how to secure the adapter... do you just use the hooks from each side?

Go to your local fire station they will install the seat for you so it’s properly mounted .

You can only use the lower anchor points when installing behind the drive and passenger seats. You would have to use the lap belt to install in the middle.

To do that you follow the instructions for lap belts from your child seat.

This is our setup with a Nuna pipa rx lite in my turd gen, my wife is 4'10 and has room in the passenger seat. I know they say the 4th gen has more room, but it looks smaller to me as far as functional space for the car seat, may need to do the middle and let it overhang the center console.

I think car seats really depend on brand to compare. But here is my Graco Extend to fit that my 18 month sits in. Some rough dimensions to compare. I fit in front of it at 6' and 185lbs and around 30 inch inseam (I think).

Exactly if OP has a new one gonna most rear facing newborn carrier type seats take more room cause they can’t be angled up like the one you show.

I had this same seat in my Jeep and have more room in the Taco. I had the new born carrier behind the passenger in the Jeep and my wife still fit. So by the transitive baby seat property I think a carrier would be fine in the 4g. Haha. Best advice, take your car seat to a dealer and put it in.

That makes no sense cause I’m pretty sure the JLU has more rear legroom. At least it did over the 3rd gen.

I run the Graco triogrow snuglock in my 3rd gen in the center(rear facing). It has a bar under the padding that clamps the lap belt to give extra tightness when installing. It by far sturdier that using the basic anchor points and pull strap. Plus, it installs in less than a few minutes. I can have both front seat all the way back.

I had a JKU, but regardless I think it was more about seat angles and rear seat height compared to the front. Baby seats just fit better in the Tacoma over the Jeep. Plus the front dash sits farther away giving more room at chest height making it feel less cramped. That was my experience with the child seats I used.

I thought about center install but then can't use the rear view at all. Would be great to have the digital review for that tho.

Gotcha I just know when I test fit our car seat in the 4th gen it just seemed more cramped than my 3rd gen.
