Ok, I'm sure it's obvious, but my brain is in neutral apparently. I pulled out the factory bed liner in my '99 Prerunner Xtracab so I could get the whole truck painted. So that's done now, and I'm going to put the plastic bedliner back in. It's the over-the-rails type, and there are 6 clips that hold it in along the sides, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to hold them in the correct position while I put the damn liner back in.

Sorry for the brain-dead question, but I'm brain-dead. Any idea?

Got any pictures of the clips, and where they would install? I pulled my under the rail Toyota linner out and it was a bitch to get it back in.

Don't you just drop in the liner, pull back on it, put the clip on the rail and slide the bolt through and tighten?

I helped pyroskier re-install his OEM bedliner the other day and it seems like when you tighten the bolts, the clips rotate up into position. Only thing you have to do is have the clips started on the bolts when you put the liner back in the bed. Someone else might be able to explain it better.

I did it the other day and snapped a couple of them all to hell in my truck.

I went and threaded them on, then installed and started turning. THe problem, is only 2 went into "place" meaning they did what everyone says as far as clicking into place.

The rest I had to let droop, then rotate them 180*, then grab the washer, while pulling it towards the center of the truck and rotating the screwdriver.

I really dont know how toyota does it. It was a absolute PITA, and most of my clips are broke...

Anyone know where to get replacement mounting clips for the liner?

I took my liner out a couple times. I thought the clips were pretty simple, all you had to do was screw it in and the latch grabs onto the rails and secures itself. That's all you really have to do, just screw forward until you feel a bite.
