I installed an LED Flasher Relay to avoid having to install a resistor at each LED. Resistors are installed to prevent hyper-flashing when upgrading from incandescent bulbs to LEDs.

I followed this thread and it worked, http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/1475-05-drl-daytime-running-lights-install-oem.html Embedded in the thread is a link to reverse engineer a DRL install, with pictures and instructions.

Basically, you have to disconnect the Daylight Running Light/Flasher Relay. There are three (3) connectors to disconnect on the back of the fuse block, and two (2) re-connections with new parts; Toyota jumper part no. 86271-30360 and a LED flasher relay.

I chose the CF18 SmartTap relay from Diode Dynamics for the programmable hazard strobe light settings and programming the number of trailing blinks used during lane changes. There are generic relays on the Internet for Toyota part no. 81980-02030.

I’m confused about your post cause it specified that the DRL Relay (81980-35020), would be using the jumper cables (82241-04030), and would essentially replace the non DRL relay.

So would you unplug the jumper cable from where the old relay sat, and plug in the LED Relay there? You would essentially just be using the DRL Relay and the LED Flasher in conjunction? No Jumper cable needed?
