    Hi,

I have a short bed an 11' paddle boards that I would like to throw in the bed of the truck. I was looking into getting a crash pad and strapping them to the tailgate. Sort of like this...

The issue I see is that almost half of the board will be sticking out of the bed. I'm worried that the majority of the weight will not be in the bed allowing the boards to tip out.

Any recommendations on how to strap them into the bed securely?

On my first gen, before I got my camper top/roof rack, I used one of those bed extenders that fits in the trailer hitch for carrying my canoe.

Think I picked it up on Amazon for less than $100...

    Yup here it is...

Works pretty well... If you have a hitch anyway. You can also flip it so it rides roof high. I used it a couple of times with my 16 ft canoe in conjunction with the camper top roof rack to provide another point of support.
