I am start collecting patches and I would like to stick them to headliner of my Tacoma 3rd Gen. Most of the patches are iron on and I would like to use stick velcro to the back of those patches before sticking them to headliner. Does this work? I am wondering if this path might damage my headliner. Any other suggestions? Thanks for all your help!

I use some sewing pins to hold mine up because the velcro I used didn’t stick very well

I use velcro, the heavy duty stuff works great.

Have someone who works with auto upholstery stitch in a new liner. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder if the headliner in the 4Runner's are a different material. I've watched a couple overlanding channels on YouTube and their headliners are plastered with patches. None of mine will stick in my Tacoma.

Velcro works, but you have to push pretty hard and twist back and forth a bit to get it to stick. I’ve got a few patches that already had Velcro that simply won’t stick, so I use some small sewing pins for those.

    All the things!
As others have said, you've got to push and grind them into the headliner. As an alternative, the carpet around the center console is a great mounting location...
