hmmm. There should be, is on my 16 Taco and 17 Tundra. Not sure how the 2020+ carplay / AA system works, but would think it would be similar for these types of settings.

Android Auto and Apple Car Play only show their maps when in that "mode" as far as I can tell. If you don't have the navigation feature for the headunit ($$$) then you won't get a map in place of the mileage in that right box. My truck doesn't have built-in navigation and I can't get any maps to show there.

Look at pg 30 in the Nav/Audio manual. Your question prompted me to look - haven't tried it yet.

I don't think JBL matters for this setting

I have a 2021 and do not have the upgraded audio/tech package, just the base model screen and I have maps up all the time from the home screen.

From what I understand your truck has to navi equipped to be able to do that. The head unit on these trucks is kind of a joke IMO. From what I gather the only app you can add to the head unit itself is Amazon Music. I even called Toyota because I thought there was no way the system could be so dumb as to make an "apps" button for just one app but nope, it was that dumb.

I'll go out to the truck and take a photo here in a few minutes, once I finish breakfast.

I have the Entune+ and no maps installed. Like the OP - no "NAVI" option. Now trying to figure out what 'enhanced USB' is....

[edit] from the manual: When an iPhone is connected while this setting is set to “On”, communication with devices connected to other USB ports may not be possible. Also, depending on the device, charging may not be possible.
    [edit]

curious, as I didn't think it was possible anyway...

I just went out to my truck and started it, took photos as the screen went through the process. Here is what I get, this is after I set it up to show Audio on the left, Maps on the right when I first got the truck used last year. I'm guessing I have the lowest tech package that includes Navigation. It won't pull up Google Maps from my phone unless I select Android Auto from the Audio Menu on the left.

NAVI was an option on my screen when I set it to split half and half.

From looking at the Toyota Build site, there are so many different options for this thing, I really wish they would have stuck with 3 options, Base Model which would be the package I have, then the Premium Tech package with the Data Card, and then one with the JBL option. Simple, but enough options where everyone is happy. Any vehicle with a screen like this, should have GPS at this point in life. I do usually run Google Maps, GAIA, or ONX on the screen most of the time. I really like the new Android Auto screen that was just released last week.

Really? My wife and I don't like the fact that the skip back 10 seconds/skip ahead 30 seconds buttons are gone from the bottom of the screen and that it no longer gives you a readout of what's currently playing along the bottom. The skip isn't a big deal in a vehicle with steering wheel controls but in my commuter car I have an aftermarket head unit and no steering wheel controls. Hopefully they bring those "buttons" back.

I have never once though to skip back 10 seconds, or forward 30 seconds in a song once in my life. I either go back to the beginning of a song, or skip to the next song. I really think you and your wife are in the very small percentage of people who used those buttons. It only ever showed the song title at the bottom for the first few seconds of a song on Spotify, if Google Maps was up and running. I also really like that it shows the other recently used apps at the bottom, since I switch between Google Maps, GAIA, and ONX often.

Not for music, for skipping through commercials on podcasts. Even then, on many streaming services it had the next song button there as well. IMO having the title and artist for a few seconds is better than not at all.

Well, when that popup comes up on your phone, for a "Would you like to help us?" for Android Auto, I would mention it in the comments. Maybe someone at Google will fix that. I can see how you'd use it, I guess I don't listen to podcasts when I'm driving.

One I noticed is your first screen would be for the factory Nav not car play or android auto. If you are trying to get google maps to show that will only show in android auto or car play it will not show along your factory settings. From what you posted you will not be able to get google maps to show up in the right side as that is a factory layout. But if you have android/car play HU run that instead. Pictures in this thread show 2 diff Nav options.
