How to Fix Broken Plexiglass/Taillight

Wondering if it's possible for me to fix my own taillight? I cracked the outer piece/shell - but everything inside is fine. Anyone got a part # or instructions for reinstall? Or is this something I have to take to a pro? Thanks for any help.

 

I think you'll be buying the entire assembly

 

You can order entire tail light assembly on Amazon for $75. Remove 3 screws and unplug old. Simply plug new assembly in and screw back in. 5 min job

LOL. I fitted mine as close as I could back together and taped over everything with clear packing tape...5 years ago.

 

I guess it all comes down to whether you prefer for your Tacoma to look good, or don't care if it looks like sh_t.
Personally, I would replace it............... as not too costly and not difficult to replace.

About all you can do is replace it.

The left hand tail light assembly for a 2020 Tacoma Sport is part number 81560-04210.

Replace it. Moisture will eventually find a way in and create havoc. I love this stuff. People spend huge bucks on trucks, cars, bikes, etc. and then spend thousands more on stuff that has no use except to look pretty or cool. They can't wait to take pictures and show their friends and families. BUT, you tell them they need a $75 light or need to pay $20 for an oil filter and they scream like a mashed cat. Folks is funny.

 

$1000 for a bumper - sure! $75 to ship it - maybe not

 

I never understood it either. I'm all for saving money, but cobbling together new vehicles with pocket lint and chewing gum shouldn't be a thing.

 

I think the OP was hoping the clear part was a replaceable part (which it's not). JB Weld or clear packing tape......maybe for a week or two, but eventually it needs replaced.
