How to find a TRD pro Tacoma with a manual transmission

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about finding a TRD pro Tacoma with manual transmission at MSRP? I found a website called markups.com which lists all the dealers and their markup amount. I found several dealerships that do not markup even the TRD pro but it sounds as if at least in the southeast there are not any allocations coming up anytime soon. I am in no hurry. I actually like the electric lime green color. But I’m ok with waiting for a 2023. Any suggestions?

 

Like everyone else, Toyota sucks cause it’s allocation based and you’re looking for a unicorn so you’re gonna have to reach out to dealers as far as you’re willing to travel and see if any have any allocations for a MT pro. A lot of dealers will tell you sure we can order that or take a deposit for one but doesn’t mean they’ll ever get an allocation for one, I’d just start reaching out till you find one.

1. Scroll down to the bottom and put in you're zip code. Enter
2. Just above that you will see distances and can click on each to expand the search from 25 out to 100miles.
3. Go back up top left, you'll see model options, Pro trucks are towards the bottom of the list. If highlighted then there may be one allocated to a dealer within that mileage range. If not, you have to go out.
4. If there is one showing in the list, go to top center "Dealer" and it will pull show a pull down list of dealers within that mileage area. You'll have to click on each one individually but can see which dealer has the allocation (at least at the time you are looking). The truck info will also show an "available date" in the bottom left. Doesn't say if it's been spoken for or not.
5. If the vin has a letter in the last few, then may not be built yet. Most are real after a normal vin shows but never know time frame for sure.

Get patient and get in line. I am on day 356 waiting for exactly what you are looking for. Part of the reason for my long wait was ordering from a dealer that sells at MSRP. They already had a long line before I showed up. They tell me it will be here by Thursday. Hope you have better luck than I did. Although I will end up with exactly what I wanted.

$15k markup on that one in NC.

 

Unfortunately, not too many out there that are only MSRP. My local dealer is one but they are only getting in a couple autos.

I spoke to one today in Augusta, GA; he said they don’t believe in markups because once this is all over people will remember how the dealers treated them. I was impressed.

What color did you get? I kinda like electric lime green though my wife isn’t crazy about it.

 

You might have to find multiple MSRP dealers and get in line, 2023 is most likely the last year of 6MT, FOMO is going to propel a lot of folks into buying 6MT Tacoma

 

it is the 'stealership' for a reason . . . . [but yes there are a few good ones]
also, i thought the goberment had a 'system' to regulate said dealers so they didn't screw people over with their monopolies . . .

Found mine just before the shi? show started buy searching the web every day. Got it a few K below MSRP. Mine was ordered for an airman at a nearby airbase and guy was sent overseas before it came in. Right place, right time + pocket full of cash.

 

I almost bought one at a discount in March of 2020; now I’m kicking myself.

 

As stated, look far and wide, call often, call again, keep looking for that one deal to fall through, ……. call again.

 

I have a 2020 trd pro army green manual, 644 miles with [snorkel sorry] either u like them or hate them. Never seen rain or smoked in etc. lifted 1 inch in the front to level it off, removed the clutch modulator, put on new falcon wild peaks. factory installed bed cover and bed liner with gladiator side steps. Stored in my climate controlled shop.. interested ? truck is new.
no firesale.. >>> I just don't have any time to drive this to busy, and have a company vehicle.
