I have successfully bypassed the 4400NEX. Here is the diff between microbypass and the corner screen hold after firmware update to v1.01

Touch screen bypass: only good until you lose battery power or reset the radio. You will have to bypass again. Not a perm solution.

Microbypass: permanent solution. Tricks the system into simulating the parking brake being applied. Never lose the function (unless you wired it wrong)

I have the 4400 in my Civic and Tacoma. Bypass works on both.

According to the YouTube Video "How to do the Bypass on the AVH W4500NEX" by Five-Star, and according to the microbypass guy (I emailed him) . For the 4400 you update to the 1.01 FW, ground the parking wire, and do the press at the bottom left of the screen. No bypass wiring needed or recommended. Check the video

Does this work on the Pioneer AVIC x850bt? Just bought a micro bypass for it specific to navigation models. (It’s older like 2013). The part I’m confused about is the grounding after I insert this little thing. Here’s what I got

Not sure since your radio is several years old and things may have changed. Good luck.

Yes. That's exactly the one for your radio. If you scroll down you will see the list of radios it supports.

However, this is a different design from the micro bypass that I have. You're going to have to either type or show a picture of what the instructions say exactly so I can see how the ground is supposed to be installed.

Honestly tho I got more than i bargained for when I took off my dash today to look behind my head unit and try and do this mod plus the I simple hdmi connector. What in the world is all this mess !? Had my pioneer AVIC x850bt installed by bestbuy but damn where are the rca and video connectors ? All I see is shit that I can’t make heads or tails from. Wanted to try and connect my phone to head unit via hdmi to do screen to screen thing. Where do i tap into ? And also. Is the Navi unit supposed to have this usb like port that I’m holding in the last pic ?

also does anyone have any tips on getting the head unit mounted back into the dash with all these wires in the back ? Feel like i had to bend and possibly warp those brackets out of whack to get it back in.

A couple things... as for why it looks that way, that’s on the installer. That being said, there isn’t a ton of room back behind the stereo to fit all of the wires/connectors ( looks like you have Sirius XM tuner too ). That’s probably how that installer was able to get it in the dash and now you see the problem that it is. As for the av rca connectors that your not sure where they are, they are starring right in pic 2. For identifying the what’s what, undo the tape because pioneer labels what they are. Whether it’s an audio input output and same with video. Yours does not have hdmi so I’m assuming that’s why your doing the medialinx

First things first. Download the manual for the specific model. The manual will show you what each port does and what each wire is supposed to be. As for the USB, it's just that. A USB port. This has an extension. That is where you would plug in any USB device or phone to charge and activate the Android Auto or Apple Car play if you don't have wireless capabilities.

If you do have the HDMI port then you will want to feed it from the passenger side, left of the blower, and up to the head unit. Plug it in that way. As for the wires......

You have little room to work with. But there is hope. Upper left and right corners have some pockets that you can use to "tuck" the wires behind. It's a process. It's a lot easier if you kinda straddle the center console and rest the unit on your knee. Then use both hands to feed the bundles of wires into the left and right upper corners. If you really need space, tie some string to each bundle and pull it from the foot area to help tuck them in deep.

Here is the link to the manual
    https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/AVIC-2013_Installation-Manual.pdf

Sadly, your unit doesn't have HDMI. I also can't find any info on if it supports screencast or weblink (the feature that allows you to cast your display onto a screen for android devices. Specifically Samsung). The 950 has HDMI not the 850.

Thanks guys. Yeah I was mainly wondering if I needed all those wires or if some could be discarded. I figure I’ll untape them and try to make sense. I plugged my new media adapter into all the audio and video rca Ports just to see if I could get a reaction. But nothing ensued. There is one plug going from a yellow video rca to a brown one and I’m guessing that may be my backup camera ? do you think this media player can be used in my situation?
Yeah I’m hoping I can figure out better tucks of the wires too. also, i bought one of those parking break bypasses and wondering where those wires are that I need to tap into. Man nothing looks as easy as they show on YouTube but i realize they are using a bench model
Here’s what my bypass instructions say

Do as your bypass says. Unlock and insert the black wire into that specific empty space then relock. As for ground, take the remaining ground wire (normally GREEN) and splice it to another ground wire. Or use a frame mount nut to connect it to ground that way. Your's is very simple. Mine required me to splice into 2 diff wires and snip a third.

As for setting up auxilary video, check the link I gave you. It should walk you through what goes where after you have removed the tape. Match the bundles with the images and you should be able to find it. Also, to help you out in the future, get some masking tape and wrap a small amount over each wire to form a tag. Then write down what that wire is.

so does Demo Mode keep power running to the unit, draining the battery 24/7 ?

Unless you rewired the connections in the back the radio will loose power when you take the keys out.

It also doesn't have power when crank so it will shut off at every start up
(I plan to rig it to stop that)

Just to clear things up, you need the bypass for a permanent solution. The bottom left screen trick only works till the battery is removed. The unit also looks for a timing pattern Wich is what the bypass does.

The screen doesn’t work with my 2440NEX. I tried with the parking brake wire grounded and ungrounded..

I just ordered a micro bypass

I played around with Apple Carplay today on my 2440NEX. The video quality of Carplay looks terrible. It looks all fuzzy and the colors look all washed out. Am I expecting too much?

When in the regular non-Carplay mode, the video quality looks super clear and sharp.

Understand that the unit is looking for a signal pattern to be told the parking brake is on. The bypass simulates this.

As for carplay not looking good, I'm not sure as I'm Android and I really haven't seen any other users complain about carplay looking bad.

I meant the screen trick doesn’t work. I mistakenly left out the word trick in my original post. I installed the micro bypass so it works perfectly now. Not sure why the screen trick doesn’t work on the 2440NEX.

Maybe my expections were too high on the screen quality in CarPlay since it’s only a 480p screen.

I'm not sure if the screen trick is supported on the 2440. It doesn't really matter cause if you lose power (disconnect the battery) it resets and looses the "trick". Since you have the bypass it's all good.

I had the brake wire grounded on my W4500NEX but no GPS adapter installed until recently. Now I get a warning "Brake wire connected incorrectly" or something like this. I did the on-screen bypass so I will see if this removes the error message.

I have the MicroBypass installed and did the on screen bypass. I still get the "Brake wire connected incorrectly" message and the 4500 powers off.
