Is it possible to remove the large front bezel from the radio to switch it to a different radio? I want to use my original bezel on a new radio but not sure of the process to remove it. Can anyone explain how do do it? I have the radio/bezel assembly out of the vehicle so that part was ok but now I need to remove the bezel without breaking it. This is on a 2005. Thank you.

Unless you are replacing the current radio with another one just like it, then the bezel isn't going to work with aftermarket head units.

I'm replacing the radio with an exact duplicate. One bezel is good the other is cracked.

Unfortunately the video is for a 2013 and mine is 2005, looks to be completely different. Thanks

Looks different, but functions exactly the same. All of the clips, screws, bolts...etc are in the same place. I swapped all of these parts out on my 2010 (same as your 2005) for parts from a 2012+. It was all a simple process with no modifications needed with all mounting provisions being the same.

That said, if it's helpful there are plenty of other youtube videos showing your year.

Thanks but I think you are missing what I am asking. When I pull the radio out of the dash the bezel is part of it so I want to remove just the bezel from the radio. At this point there is no work on the dash, it is just with the radio / bezel. I see people just selling the head unit so it must be able to be disassembled.

"Bezel" is a subjective term that gets used for a handful of these parts. Removing the face of the radio and separating it from the guts of the head unit itself is what it sounds like you're trying to do. I've never seen anyone do that before but looks to be pretty easy.

Have you removed the radio from the truck yet? I just took a look at the spare one I have laying around and there are some obvious clips and a couple screws which appear to hold the face/bezel to the electronics of the head unit itself. You can do some searching but I've yet to see anyone post about how to take this apart. Looks pretty easy though just looking at the back of the unit.

I've never seen the radio separated from the bezel.

Are you trying to remove the front of the radio from the guts of the radio?

@Paulrv6, post a picture of what you are trying to separate from the head unit.
