What’s the best 4 inch lift I can get for my Toyota Tacoma? I looked at the RC one but I don’t want to run spacers on my stock front shocks because I’m afraid of it being stiff. But i want to lift it enough to clear 33-12.50 tires on it.

Well I’m not clearing 33s without a lift and I’m gonna need 3.5 lift at least to clear them without chopping the cab mount

285/70/16. You will need to chop cab corners

You'll still need to trim a bunch of fender lining and chop the cab mount to fit 33x12.5 tires. The lift doesn’t make the wheel well and larger and those tires are too wide for the wheel well. You can absolutely fit narrower 33” tires on stock suspension with the right wheel offset and alignment.

Yep, no matter what with 33's. Get a heat gun to mold inner fender back also. Avoid the spacers.

still need a CMC...no matter the lift...its a matter of geometry...UNLESS you go over zero bumps, go up any slopes, back out of your driveway, twist the body in any way shape or form and never turn your tires full lock...sure, then any 3" lift will work!

I haven't trimmed with my 255/85/16s, if it's solely about getting 33s, though these are 33x10. :) I'm happy with 5100s and OMEs.

The real question is what wheels are you guys running for 285's/ 12.50's? Can I run my stock wheels and stay off the UCAs?

Some tire shops won’t mount 12.50s on stock wheels but some of them will. It is possible to do it on stocks but it’s not really recommended

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
check out this video, on lifts and bigger tires with the Tacoma. I am running 285s which aren't big tires compared to what the Jeep guys are doing, it didn't take much work so they don't rub. A CMC is around an hour at a shop and if they are good you won't even know its done.

You either chop the cab mount (no big deal really) or you cut a section out of the frame for a drop bracket lift. I can't imagine why you're considering a 4" lift if you don't want to chop the cab mounts.

If you plan to use your lift for anything other than stance, you will need to work on the front wheel openings by hammering the pinch welds flat, trimming some plastic, and chopping the cab mount. If you don't want to work on the wheel openings you could install taller bumpstops but it'll limit wheel travel and probably ride like garbage.

It’s all about off set the more negative the offset the more you will rub against your can mount hence why some people claim they fit 33s with no lift and no cmc (they’re most likely running a zero or positive wheel offset)

I'm running zero offset wheels along adjustable UCAs and caster set to 4. I'm confident that anyone running a true 33" tire is going to rub if they cycle their suspension. I have a CMC and smashed the pinch weld. It rubbed bad before the CMC. When stuffed now I still rub the flares.

This is static without compressing the bump stop.
    IMG_2588.jpg

When I bottom at speed it rubs enough to leave melted plastic from the flare on the outside of the tire.
