    Hello everyone,

So I’m relatively new in the forums.

I just bought my first Tacoma and took delivery of it this week. At first I hadn’t noticed but thoroughly getting underneath the car I noticed caked up dry mud stuck to the body, I cleaned up most of the frame and lines with a rag soaked in WD40 and did the best I could to get most of it.

while sitting in the interior I noticed some dust sane color as the around the edges of the trim, I removed the HU Bezel and was shocked to see covered in dust, I know it’s OR vehicle after all it’s a TRD OR 4x4.

but is there an option easier way to clean all of this out ?

Yes, use water. WD-40 is not a cleaner. It is a water displacement fluid with light lubrication.

You could also use a vacuum cleaner and break up the "big" stuff with your fingers or a tool.

Plenty of elbow grease. Located near the high pressure wheel bearing grease at the local auto store. Probably only need a pound or 2.

Good stuff, thanks. About the grease, where should I add it if needed, you mention around the high pressure wheel bearings, where exactly is that ?

    thanks.

I use microfiber cloths with either plain water or McGuires interior surface cleaner to do the dashboard and all trim maybe once per quarter. For the mud on the bottom just use a garden hose and spray it off. It will make a mess on the driveway. If you don’t have a hose you can use the do it yourself carwash to spray up under there and get it all off. The mud won’t hurt anything, it just adds weight. It eventually falls off when it dries out completely and you hit a decent bump.
