So I am about to get some sliders but suspect my kids will have a harder time getting in my lifted truck. One of my 3 kids is a double amputee and may find it difficult to get in the truck. However, he'll manage without it if need be.

My question is...does anyone know of removable steps that I can add on if necessary?

I found this image on Google but can't tell what it is. It does look like a bolted on step behind the "PT" in "ADAPTER". Any ideas?

3M Tred Tape. It’s not too expensive, trim to fit.

I plan on doing that anyways but am trying to find something that may help him with the height. He can lift his prosthetics but the height may be challenging.

Interesting concept. I’m not sure if I would trust a simple clamp style bracket as it might rotate at a less than ideal time, resulting in a seriously bad loss of balance.

Depending on who you’re friends with, you could take that concept to a fabricator but transfer some holes thru the sliders for removable fasteners. 2-3 3/8ths fasteners would likely be plenty per step.

I may just end up using those "Oh Crap" handles they sell for the Jeep Wrangler just for when he's riding with me. Assuming he can balance. Something like the photo below but with nothing that rotates.

Also consider getting the slider built “flat” with filler plates.

Did you get tube sliders already? If not,@Mobtown Offroad and others sell rock sliders with panels built in... if you already have them installed, you could easily sell them if they are bolt-ons.

Also, do you have a roof rack? Consider putting grab handles on it above your kid’s doors. There are also grab handles designed to go on the base of the front headrests for rear seat passengers, too. They would be lower and more easy to grab for a kid than the overhead ones:

That original picture... ShmellFab in California. I saw a video of him installing and there was one of those on. He's a member here, @Shmellmopwho, but doesn't ship sliders. Maybe he will ship those though. There is a link in his post I believe.

Yeah - I have the same ones, too. Really good stuff! OP is in NC, so I mentioned one that ships. But for those here in SoCal, I always recommend him.

Did you see this? Rock sliders strong enough to lift a truck, but they are also making them flat so they would be good steps, too. Consider ordering with fill plates as better steps:

Here's my thought. Drill large holes in the sliders and have bushings welded to "seal" the inside of the slider. Then have a step fabricated that has bolts welded on that will pass through the bushing. My major concern would be the step rotating and something happening. I think this might be an easy setup to produce.
I will draw something up in CAD tomorrow so it makes more sense.

Something like this, except where the cut area on the tube is would be a fill plate to use as a step. These could be removed when not needed or when you went off roading and needed clearance. Pretty simple, I think most weld shops could do this for you without issue.

Thanks to @SearArtist for the Mobtown sliders. Rode around with my kids today and none of them had issues climbing in. I have ordered 2"x12" strips of skateboard tape though.

Thanks. The rack is aluminum from SOS Concepts in SC. The basket is steel, a Smittybilt Defender that I u-bolted on.
