I like to wash my Tacoma myself. However, it takes time and I don’t have lots of free time. I try to wash it once a month but sometimes I wash it once every two months.
How often you guys wash your trucks?
They say rule of thumb is to wash cars once every two weeks.
Is hand washing the tacoma once every month or every couple of month not enough to keep the paint in a good condition?

U can always take it to a bay and foam / rinse / dry. I think a contact wash, (prefer 2 bucket method) is needed pending ur travel distance / road / weather conditions

I wash my truck when it rains!

Kidding. Washing it every month or two should be fine. Wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Both my trucks get a bath once a week if the weather is decent. The interior gets a good cleaning once a month.

I wash it whenever the build up on the back window is bad enough for my punk friends to write some unkind things.

Usually in late March/early April I will give it a good wash then clay bar it if needed. If it doesn't need that I wash it at least every 2 weeks and use a drying aid spray wax every time. Using that really helps it stay clean and look great throughout the spring and summer. In the fall I keep washing until it gets too cold but always have a hose on hand in case we get a warm spell which will allow me to give the truck a quick clean. I don't have a DIY 'spray wand' car wash around me and if I did I would go there throughout the winter.

More info than you needed, lol! I've always enjoyed cleaning my cars. Dad taught me.

When I had my 2nd gen, I went years without washing it, 9+ years. The only wash it’d get is when it rained hard.

So far in 9 months of ownership, my 3rd gen has yet to touch a soap sud under my ownership.

Living in the south and parking in a garage helps.

Every year or two. It gets neglected. I used to wash vehicles way more often when I was younger. It's a truck I don't really worry about it. If it's cold out I'm not washing it, if it's hot out I'm not washing it. If it's nice out I'm busy doing other things outside. That's not to say I don't like a clean truck.

Whenever I feel like it. Sometimes weekly, sometimes annually.

It was dirty today, it's going to rain later this week, so I bought it the 8 dollar special this morning. We'll see what happens after spring.

I try to do once a month when it’s not raining. For a while I didn’t like my truck and it went three years without being washed.

I usually use a coin op car wash. I’d wash at home but would probably be crucified by neighbors for wasting water.

At our complex the water gets shut off on Oct 31st. Doesn't get turned on until the risk of frost is over. Usually April. Though the summer I can wash, wax clay bar when required. Winter to spring I rely on touch-less car washes and wash bays. No bucket washing in these bays but I go late ant night or early morning to avoid issues. Winter, I try and make sure to get any salt off as soon a possible. I watch the long range weather forecasts to see if it's worth while to wash and wax. Sometimes I will wash on a rainy day because the road grime and salt is that bad.

I've since found a better wash bay that's not so gungy.

Mostly stock, just getting it to my liking, just happy to have had the taco and now my 4Runner.
Does it count when it rains.
If not then 1 huge detailing in spring after the first big pollen dusting for all the fleet.
I figure I will see anything that needs my attention when doing mods or standard upkeep maintenance.
