How often do you use your truck as a truck?

May be a dumb question, however I am wondering how often Tacoma owners actually use their truck as its intended.

I use the bed to haul dirt bikes, miscellaneous equipment and do housing moves maybe 30x a year. Otherwise it’s my DD. I have yet to offroad because it worries me with a $35k truck lol.

So I’m just wondering how often you guys actually use your truck or consider it an essential part to your lifestyle or hobby’s?

Actual hauling depends on what's going on. Been using it pretty hard for yard debris out, bark/mulch in and wood for the shed project in quite a bit lately.

On edit: top pic has 16' 2x8s on the bottom with a bunch of 12'ers on top. Realized *after* I got them all loaded that I had 16s instead of 14s. Was NOT going to yard out all of the 12'ers to save the $1.50/board lol

All the time. I bought a 2wd truck knowing I would rarely if ever need 4wd. My pups love riding in the truck bed and I would take them everywhere I could. Biggest reason I bought a truck.

I bought mine as a cheap 4x4 (low-range, skid plates, good ground clearance), it's just coincidentally a pickup truck.

i have a retractable tonneau cover so i keep my gym bag in the bed all the time...being in the bed helps it air out and not stink up the cabin like my previous car...

Mine is my daily driver plus the short box has just enough space to be my mobile shed, under a soft tonneau, containing everything that wife and I require for camping with a travel trailer.

So it’s a hauler and a tower. Both are truck jobs and mine fills both bills very well.

It's nice when the interior of your car/truck doesn't smell like a dirty gym.

A lot more than I predicted. Since getting it a year ago, I've:

    - Helped a friend with a move
    - Used it to clean out my garage and haul stuff off to the dump
    - Filled it to the brim twice for a home landscaping project last weekend
    - Transported my dog's crate and bed several times
    - Lugged my dog around (her new favorite thing)
    - Delivered some unwieldy equipment for a work event
    - Borrowed and returned a wheelbarrow and some other crap
    - Toted my filthy, leaky beer cooler
    - Helped some random kid corral his giant pitbull (and made them both ride home in the bed, because it was a giant goddamn pitbull)

I'm also going to use it to take home a generator that's being gifted to me.

I've never owned a pickup before and it's amazing how useful they are. It's a nice bonus that the Tacoma looks great and is really enjoyable as a daily driver.

I use mine weekly for stuff that I couldn’t do with a car/suv. Why would someone buy a truck if they don’t need a truck? It doesn’t drive as well as the alternatives. Slower. Uses more fuel.

I view a truck as more of a necessity than a choice.
