Old school. Used to balancing every other rotation. First truck with painted wheels. Tire shop advised nor to do it unless you felt a reason to. Which to me means vibration at cruise. What are you guys doing now?

When I get new tires, and have a vibration that is precisely at 55-65mph. That’s it...usually once per life of the tire.

AT tire, I balance every 10K miles. MT, I balance every 5K. With regular road tires, you could go longer. This helps me get at least 45K+ miles out of every set of MT's I've ever run.

Every oil change I rotate and balance and for the amount of driving I do that's once a year

Damn I’ve only ever balanced tires at install or if there was a problem.

My Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains have over 16k miles on them and the tread surface still looks new with no signs of abnormal tire wear . And I attribute that to rotating and balancing them on a regular basis

Old school??? - I never heard of people balancing wheels every other rotation when they did not need it. I only balance with new tires or if there is vibration. Why fix what is not broken unless you like to spend money needlessly.

If you paid to have them balanced as often as that then that is one expensive set of tires. 9 times balancing MT at $60 (which is on low end) as a set = $540

If your balancing your wheels every other rotation I think beads might be a better/cheaper alternative.

I do it like 1 time a year for 40$. Other than that just rotate when I have the time

I get free lifetime rotate and balance for the life of the tires, at a local tire shop in Attalla. It's a courtesty they do for their tire customers.

I've never had a problem rotating my mud tires, every time I change my oil (every 5K). This is what gets the most life out of an MT tire.

i just take mine to discount tire and ask for a rotation.. they will usually re-balance it as part of the procedure of rotation.
