I looked at having mine painted, and was given a ballpark figure of 4500-5000

For the amount of cash involved you would be better off just buying a new Inferno Truck.

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
Always remember the better question to ask yourself is : Speed, Quality, or Price which of the two do I prefer because I can't get all three.

Never said I'd do it....OP just asked what it'd cost so I offered an option.

Personally if I wanted a different color I'd sell my truck and buy the color I wanted. The cost to do it right would easily be double what anyone has suggested so far.

Unless you do a high end job of sanding the truck down before doing a new color, every little chip will show the old color. Had a friend that painted a yellow car blue. Within a couple years he had bright yellow chips all over the blue car. Looked just awful. I would advocate always repaint your vehicle the same color, but maybe differing shade, of the original paint job. Unless you are prepared to do it right, in which case it is likely more cost effective to sell and buy what you want.

I had my old car painted by macco and they ruined the entire car. I couldnt find inferno dip. I found some bright ass dips but it was more like a highlighter orange.

See if www.monstaliner.com has a color close enough. Unless you're looking for a paint smooth finish.

There is a woman on one of the camping forums I belong to and her favorite saying is " Love the one your with until you can afford to upgrade." She is referring to campers not spouses or partners!

I really love Inferno, but it would easily cost me $6k to upgrade to a new SR5 in that color. I think of all the toys I could buy with that $6k and my Super White Taco is just fine.

Off the cuff, I'd say a quality shop would charge more than 5k to change the color correctly. Truck has to be disassembled to jamb it and squirt the back of the cab. I've painted a couple of cars myself with the last one being a 63 Falcon convertible. Painted it about 7 years ago and at that time a gallon of PPG concept urethane was just shy of $800 including the activator. A gallon of 4000 series clear with activator was about $400, don't forget sealer around $200 a gallon... Good paint is expensive. My last project was a 96 ram Cummins that had failing clear and needed to have the rockers replaced. I did the body work and the sent the truck to a vocational high school to have it painted. They charged me for the paint and something like 200 for labor. Best deal around but it took a long time. Paint job was as good as most collision repair shops. Not show quality, but showroom quality.

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I had a quote to paint my 2003 tacoma and it was about $5500.00. If you are going to go cheap don't do it at all you will ruin the vehicle. That was also priced going with the same color. Just remember the truck has to be disassembled to do the job correctly. Then you have parts that can't be reused so they have to be purchased. I will eventually do it.

I went ahead and plasti-dipped the front bumper, grille, hood, roof and fender flares with the matte black. This is a attractive temporary solution. I bought 2 gallons of finish to do the job. It took a few days.
