Going nucking futs trying to choose a lift. And don’t even get me started on a wheel.

What are you running, how much did it cost and why do you recommend your setup?

Easily 2 grand or more. Went through 3 sets of wheels, 3 different rear liffs, 2 different front lifts. I try not to think about it lol. All thats over 2 years though.

Edit: The key thing I learned is: " Buy what you think you'll want later, now."

In other news, Im an expert at pulling 1st gen leafs rather quickly lol.

Haha right on. This is good advice. Not being a cheap ass now will probably benefit my future.

Wish I had the nuts to pull the trigger on a 6 inch BDS but I feel like that’s a huge sinkhole.

    What are you running?

Bilstein 5100's, OME 880 coils, Wheelers 1.5" AAL, and some cheapo OEM spec leaf packs (huge regret not just getting deavers up front) and some 3 degree axle shims. 2" of lift all around, sits perfectly level.

I knew your original question, I was just talking car hoists with a buddy (lifts) a bit ago.

I apologize for the derail. It's just that if I'm at an address for what I'm sure is going to be at least 5 years, I'm getting a lift. Fuq laying on the ground. Your back will thank you as you grow older.

I put BFG Ko2's on my stock OR rims, and kept it size 31's and did an Icon Stage 5. Its a sleeper, sits about 2" higher than stock but performance in the dirt is insane and my gas mileage stayed good. Well as good as stock is lol. ~5k when all said and done. I debated on going cheap but I wanted the performance more than the lift. It just depends if you see yourself using the truck. If you do, save up and do it right the first time. I have been down the other road when you replace everything 4x and are out thousands because you thought it would be good enough. GL

I got 265/70-17 tires on OE Wheels SEMA 17x7 replicas for $1,400. Reading all the horror stories about dealers, warranty denials and misaligned front ends I didn't want to screw around with a lift.

I am happy with the stance of the truck with the slightly larger tires, wheels with less offset and no lift.

Dang that seems like a lot for new wheels and tires that look questionably just as good as stock wheels with black inlays and stock tires.

Definitely passing on new socks and shoes if I don’t get 285s and a lift since I literally see no aesthetic difference

ADS 2.5 with ext travel. Dakar leafs and SPC UCAs. $4k

    Started with OME...never again

OME was 590# medium coils = stiff as F**k!!
ADS with 700# coils = smooth as butter

    Figure that out...o_O

Often less is more. Some of us don't want the Mad Max look.

Too, true. 3" max. After that you sacrifice reliability.

All in all, I decided to go with the buy once hurt once methodology. Current, just the lift and new wheels and tires it was roughly around $3,400. However, with extras, it was gone well past $5,500. (Hi lift jack, maxtraxs, recovery misc items, arb twin compressor, ss brake lines, exhausts, lightbars, taillights, etc and so on)

    Bilstein 5100
    OME 887
    Wheeler's 2in AAL
U bolt flip kit with Timbrens
    Superbump stops
    SCS Ray 10 Matte Bronze
    285/75/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
(and tons of other small stuff)
