The title says it all... I recently purchased a set of bushwhacker fender flares for my 13 Tacoma. Rather than putting them on black, I am planning on color matching them to my truck. How much/how many cans should I get??

I am also debating on using paint from https://www.automotivetouchup.com/ or just using dupli-color. Thoughts on that would be a plus.

Enough to do at least 2 coats. 3 would be cool then clear, but two also works. Remember, it's just a baseline color. What you want to go thick on is the clear. That's the very important layer.

That is part of my problem, I am not sure exactly how much I will need. If I do go through ATU paint I don’t want to have to wait for a second order and leave the project half way done while they ship.

Okay, and how many cans will provide 2 coats? That’s where I am having a problem.

Minimum half can if you're using primer per fender

Imo. I can of clear and color per fender flare. At least 2 cans of etching primer. I’d go with duplicolor, most parts stores will have it. Also if you buy to much you can just return what you don’t use.

I'd go with one can per flare. With it being color matched, if you have too much left over now you have some for future projects. That's what I did in 2009 when I bought my color matched rattle cans. I bought way more than I needed and it has come in really handy over the years for doing other projects and touch ups.
