How much should I sell my 3rd gen for?

I'm trying to decide whether to sell or trade in. I went crazy with mods and absolutely will not do that again haha.

2018 off road with 90,000
Trd lift, exhaust, intake, skid.
Pioneer Head unit
Tons of other minor mods (tint, led lights, bed stiffeners, everything Meso offers)

It's in good shape and has been driven very much of the easy side.

What is a good starting point for eBay Motors or Facebook Marketplace?

You will always get more if you sell it yourself vs trading it in, but don’t expect someone to pay market price for the mods you added. Best case scenario is to remove the mods and sell them separately.

Be sure to calculate the sales tax savings if you trade it in as part of your analysis.

 

Look around the dealer websites see if they have used ones that would give you some idea of the high price then go to other car selling sites and compare.I usually google the vehicle and you will get all kinds for sale.

If you have the OEM headlights, re-install them. The China brand didn't age well.

As mentioned, forget the mods, that money went into the wind the moment you spent it.

 

Location will dictate how much people are willing to pay. Check your local fb market, Craigs etc and that will give you a ball park. In CA, I would say mid to upper 20 as I see 2020+ with under 60k listing for 30-35k if it’s a TRD-OR 4x4. The days of overpriced Tacoma are over and norm pricing is starting to set in. Modifications don’t add value, it just makes the sales move faster if the right buyer comes along.

use the online resources, mods aren't worth anything (except to that one buyer,,, that knows they're not worth anything). To many buyers and sellers (dealers) the mods can take away from the value too.

Are you buying a brand new Chevy. You also have to calculate how much depreciation you'll lose once you drive it off the lot. If you don't trust the new Tundra's, then look for a good low milage used one with a V8.

 

with that estimate, you will be my first point of contact when I sell mine down the road.

 

Take a look at other comparable listings via CarGurus, Facebook Marketplace, Autotrader, Carmax, etc.

And you’ll probably make more money by returning your truck back to stock and selling the aftermarket parts separately
