I am looking to buy a truck for some months now, no luck. I am looking to buy a 2011 and newer model, but my question is how much should I be paying for a truck of that year, trd 4x4 and few miles no more than 130k miles. what should you guys consider a good deal, fair deal. I am looking at trucks here in Kansas 2011 tacomas with more than 130 miles at prices around 20k or more.

Midsize truck with 130,000 miles that's a decade old, and in good shape. Maybe 5 grand. That sounds like a low ball number for a used Tacoma, but that's how much i think one should cost.

Check out what others are asking for the same/similar truck on cargurus. At least you can get a ballpark figure.

I'll add that I'd want 30 grand for my 12 RC.

Now it's a terrible time to buy. Just look for the best deal possible. Make sure it was maintained!

Well, that’s right. That’s a $1,500/month apartment in some cities.

Well, I bought my 2014 w/ 110k from a family member for $20k. I balked at that price but now see that it wasn't that bad. Saw a dude on here a few days ago grab a 2015 TRD OR Access Cab w/ 60k miles & a 7yr 100k warranty for $26k.

With all that said, whoever is selling a 10 year old Tacoma w/ 130k+ miles for $20k+ is smoking trucker meth. Look elsewhere OP!

Exactly what I was thinking. That cap would save a lot of money that would be spent on rent.

Any reason why you're looking for a 2011+? From what I've seen the 2012+ trucks fetch a lot more than the 05-11.

Around here, depending on specifics of course, you're looking at $18-25k for an 05-11 and $25-35k for a 12+. Prices are crazy but I would assume slightly less in your region. And, slightly less for a 4cyl or single cabs... my price ranges are more for the well optioned, 6cyl versions.

I had read that 2011 is a good year for the tacoma, 2011, 2013, and 2015 are the best years, but the newer ones are more expensive, trying to find one of 2011, but no luck yet. I was going to see a 2011 in oklahoma, I told the guy to wait me a week, when I was ready the guy told me he sold it. There was a 2012 Tacoma, but it was the one that is not trd, just the basic one with TRD stickers, it was a pretty truck, but I don't know, supposedly the 2012 have a lot of problems.

In October I bought my current Taco: two owner 2013 DCSB, 47k miles, no major blemishes or hits, with Toyota maintenance records for $20k. No TRD no 4x4.

Before that I made it 30 years without ever taking out a loan or using """"credit"""". Worth it tho. She's going to be loved.

Get your financing in place first, then figure out a range of trucks that meet your needs. Maybe 2011-2015, less than 50K on the odo, within 150 miles for example. Then hit all the websites, AutoTrader, CarFax, KBB etc. Set up a seperate email address for this task so they leave you alone once you find something. Plan to move fast when a truck in your range comes up. I got smoked on at least a dozen Tacomas that fit my needs before I found one an jumped on it. Test drive on Tuesday and bought it Thursday. 2015 Access Cab with 35K, $20K out the door. Utility package (no jump seats in the back) is the only reason I think it was still available by the time I saw it.
