Hey, how much does the front ARB Tacoma (2011) bumper actually weigh without a winch?

I've been hearing as much as 150 lbs and as low as 65 lbs.....

I just called ARB and they quoted me at 250 lbs actual weight..... When I questioned it they admitted they don't actually know and that they will have to put it on a scale and call me back.....

THEY MAKE IT ??!?!?!??!?! How do they not know how much it weighs?????:annoyed:

This guy makes it look pretty light: https://youtu.be/_F04tp9AU_o?t=1m48s he picks it up with 1 hand at 1 minute 50 seconds.

I know the mounting bracket is not attached but it can't weigh more than 50 lbs extra right?

160 lbs IIRC. Extra weight is all the packaging and what not. Add a winch and it's another 80 lbs or so.

I do not have a winch yet

I was able to carry it and install myself without much problem

other bumpers may be lighter and have more clearance

there is one major reason to consider ARB and that is availability.
ARB means finding one within a week.
Other brands are typically 6mo lead time.

    it will protect the truck.
You can always get an ARB. Order something else you want. Be protected while you wait.
And when the second one comes, remove the ARB and sell it.

I have one, I think it’s 147lbs without the winch. It’s not nearly as heavy as people make it out to be.
I love mine, and have zero regrets.

well... I was able to easily remove mine when I got my winch. wasn't to bad. but adding a winch I had to basically dead lift the damn thing to my knees then rocked it into place. but if i had to do it again, id pay a friend in snacks in beer, or one of my friends in Pepsi and some tacos.

but I also was freshly off a hernia surgery as wasn't supposed to lift much at that point. but maybe a couple hundred lbs

I’m having the 3423160K bumper put on my 2017 Tacoma DCSB TRD Off-road. When I was recently in South Africa, my PH had one in his Hilux and we hit a “feral” donkey going about 70 MPH. Zero damage to bumper and truck. Donkey wasn’t so lucky. So there will be no more worrying about deer!

It's not hard to reach out to fabricators and ask what their lead times are, though MOST post them on their site somewhere since it's such a frequently asked question.

I got my rear dual swingout from 4X Innovations in 3 weeks. BAMF has 10-12 weeks for bare metal. So not sure which fabricators you're talking about but the average lead time WITH powdercoat is no where near "6mo", LOL.

Might want to do some research before posting such patently false opinions.

I weighed my ARB when I installed it along with everything I took off. It adds 131lbs additional net weight (W/o a winch) and the stock spring front end dropped 3/16”.

It’s a bolt on affair. Late 2nd gens require the original bumper cover to be cut to act as filler for the gap. Early (up to ‘11) do not have this large gap and don’t need the filler. Once it’s all bolted up, you have to drill one hole on each side of the mounting plate for a bolt. I didn’t bother.

thanks, and you would still need filler piece on >2012 with the <2012 arb? i like how the earlier model arb has slimmer design on the newer 2.5...
    thanks

The grill and headlight fillers are different shapes between the refresh years. There would be a triangular gap next to the grill if using a pre2012 bumper on a ‘12-‘15 truck. There would be pre2012 bumper needs some modifications to fit a late 2nd gen. A little cutting of the upright brackets closest to the truck body that hold the grill bars.
