How many wheels/tires can you fit in the bed?

For context I have a Double Cab Short Bed.

So in short, I'm heading out tomorrow morning on an 5hr round trip to pick up a set of 265/75R16 duratracs. I also have the opportunity to buy a set of Pro Comp wheels with 265/75R16 BFG tires already mounted (but half worn) which are an additional 1.5hrs away (8hr round trip)

My main concern is if I would have enough room in the bed + back seat of the cab to load two sets of tires. I will for sure be picking up the duratracs but I would hate drive the additional distance to not be able to fit the second set of wheels.

Anyone know if we can fit two sets in the bed + back seat of a DCSB?

    Thanks!

Few ratchet straps and drop the tailgate for more surface area and can probably stuff em all in there.

If there's a will, there's way... You can most likely fit them all in the bed, but definitely if you use the back seat too.

Stuff them all in the bed if you stack them up vertically then like Chad said use some ratchet straps to tie them down you'll be good. For context now I've got a long be but you pack it right and you can stuff a lot in the bed. Full set of armor, HC rear bumper, my spare, tool box, skids, sliders, and front bumper and still had plenty of room for some more tetris in loading the bed.

That's good to know. I don't mind strapping down or stuffing some in the back seat, as long as they can fit through the door lol.

I figured if I couldn't fit them all in, I'd take my camry to pick up the tires as it's cheaper on gas.

Would you say you have more room leftover by stacking them flat or vertical?

They will not fit completelly flat, yes you might get more room left over if they are vertical.

8 hrs? You must be getting them for damn near free.

As others said keep them vertical. I would avoid having the tailgate down just because thats the fastest way to ruin one and they cost more than a set of used wheels/tires.
Get bags for the ones you’ll be putting in the back seat.

Easily should be able to fit 6 wheels in the back and two in the rear seat if you have to, but if you're clever you can probably get all 8 in the bed. Here's four 285/75/16's in my short bed - you can see there's still plenty of room left:

    Same crap everyone else got
Your tires are all 31.6 inches so end to end that's over 5ft so you will have to go tail gate down if you do 2 row upright unless one set is not mounted. Then you could put your wheel and tire set in first, the butt your second set against those and ratchet them tight toward the cab and maybe compress them enough to get the tailgate shut. That's a huge maybe but you only need a few inches. Good luck!

Agreed on having the tailgate down, I don't trust it.

I'm getting the duratracs with 8k on them for $240 and the Pro Comps 7089's are $240 as well.

There isn't anything local to me and with the winter coming soon, I want to get a set of wheels mounted!

Agreed, I think I'll mess around with some spares tonight and essentially do this. Worst case I throw one or two in the back seat with a blanket covering the bench.

4 or 5 tires is easy. You could probably get 6-8 tires with the tailgate down and straps!
