How many tacomas came with factory heated leather seats?

Tacomas that came with heated seats were mostly in the Canadian market. The only exceptions are any dealer installed aftermarket for a price markup. Or the rare TRD limited version which has been discussed earlier in this thread.

If Toyota provided an arctic package for this vehicle comprised of heated mirrors, seats, and steering wheel I most likely would have purchased it. However I also don't see that as being popular enough to warrant the development.

I would be driving a new Tacoma or Tundra if they had a heated steering wheel option.
For the past 8 years , GM , Ford and Dodge all have it in their trucks . Its 40 below zero up here for 7 months . Only way to get a heated steering wheel is to jump up to a Lexus .
Had my fingers crossed that Toyota would have implemented the Arctic package when they introduced the 3rd gen . Nope Not in the trucks but no problem in a 2021 Rav4 ????????????????????
Now someone is going to post a picture of a fluffy steering wheel cover below this post LOL . You guys dont understand what cold is
Even the wife,s Hyundai has a heated steering wheel .
A heated steering wheel is a MASSIVE seller for cars in Northern Canada
I am looking into a mod using a heated steering wheel from a lexus in my Tacoma
    Finished my rant

Idk about whether or not the r and d is worth it...I mean jeep offers a winter package with heated wheel and seats if I’m not mistaken? I imagine it’s easier for FCA though if they already have the tech from their other vehicles

I feel your pain. I work in the oil fields along the Arctic ocean and usually provide 24 hour support during arctic drilling on ice roads. This last year my first work truck was a diesel Dodge with heated seats and steering wheel. It was also -50 to -55F ambient for 3 weeks during that time. The whole set up was extremely nice, the wheel actually burned my hands it was so hot. Unfortunately it didn't even last a month into the season before it blew the head gasket and was sidelined for the season.

I am in BC. Have a 2009 Taco double-cab. Optional package for that year was heated leather seats and back-up camera.
Loved it when I got it, but heated seats no longer work. Miss 'em. Looking to repair now that winter is here.

I had a friend have that happen and it was the controller that failed.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/discontinued-seat-heater-control-assembly.586400/

If that's the case or anything else you can still get heaters with the proportional control like factory.

I just put heaters in mine using the two position switch like OP has due to reliability and I only ever use high anyway. I've got switches mounted on the plastic seat trim just in front of the lumbar support knob. That way it's all self contained and all you need ran to the seat is the positive and negative. The wiring was super easy, getting the seat apart is a pain! My brother and I have put them in about every vehicle we have and the Tacoma's seats were the worst.

    Stock for now.. maybe

Damn, you had a nice setup for awhile at least. We just have shitty basic fords for work vehicles up there. Beginning of this year was cold for sure. Unfortunately I haven't been working lately because the company I work for mainly does new construction. The Ford was a gas burner so that helped on cold starts. I kind of miss it on the Slope at this point. Need to get back cuz I need a break from drinking lol

    Off topic I know

Toyota Canada offered port-installed heated leather seats on the Tacoma from 2009-2014. Factory heated leather seats were available starting in 2012, and from 2015-onwards the leather and heated seats were always factory.

Take a look at your compliance label in the driver's door jam, there will be a listing for "C/TR" followed by the 3-digit colour code and the interior trim code. If the interior trim code starts with an L, it was factory leather, if it starts with an F, it was not factory leather. It may have been port-installed if it is a Canadian-destination vehicle, that can be checked by Toyota using the VIN to check for APX packages. The vehicle will list fabric seats with a leather package that was port-installed.

My 2015 Sport looks identical so must have been factory.

Added @Up2NoGood s heated mirror kit and have a remote start so I'm pretty set up for winters. This stuff should all have been available from factory.

I understand your pain. I work for a projects based company, primarily for a certain oil company. They operate the western most leases if you're familiar with the geography. This last trip was my first back since May when exploration ended. All my other projects were postponed or cancelled due to the current environment. However I have been able to stay busy by shifting to the mining industry as well as remote village work upgrading primary satellite circuits.

The only downside to the dodges were the large radiators meant for towing. At those cold of temps the damn things never warmed up at idle and you have to drive them in a lower gear to keep the RPMs higher. I normally try to score a Chevy or GMC with heated seats. They build up and hold heat better.

I have a Canadian import 2013 with leather/Softex seats and the factory switches in console and towing package as well. I am trying to learn what trim package this is, as there is no manual with this vehicle. It has been way lifted so I cant tell what was OG in the suspension. It says TRD Sport on the decal, but Deluxe on the VIN lookup. mysteries!

I've got all that minus the unique 17" wheels. and Bilsteins. It has a fabtech 6" crossbar lift kit and rough country shocks and blocks in the rear. I don't really love the lift, but it came with Wheels and tires are aftermarket. What a great package, I guess I got lucky! at least now I know my package.

All 2005-2015 Tacomas are "DLX" or "BASE", even the Limited package. If you'd like you can post or PM me your VIN and I can tell the details of your specific truck.

Based on what you've said, I would expect you likely have the 4X4 Double Cab TRD Sport & Leather Package, which includes:

    P265/65R17 Tires
    17” Aluminum Alloy Wheels
    Wheel Locks
    LED Rear Brake Lamps
    Digital Compass
    Outside Temperature Gauge
    Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror
    Backup Camera
    Dual Illuminated Vanity Mirrors
    Variable Intermittent Wipers
Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel & Shift Knob
    Metallic Dash Accents
    Illuminated Entry
Increased Towing Capacity (2903 kg/6400 lb.) (Automatic)
Increased Towing Capacity (2948 kg/6500 lb.) (Manual)
    Transmission Cooler (Automatic Only)
    Engine Oil Cooler
    Upgraded Alternator
    Class IV Towing Hitch
    7-Pin Trailer Wire Harness
    Trailer Sway Control (TSC)
    Front Sport Seats
Heated Driver & Front Passenger Seats
    Front Seat Back Pockets
    Colour-Keyed Bumpers
    Colour-Keyed Mirrors
    Colour-Keyed Grille Surround
    Colour-Keyed Door Handles
    Colour-Keyed Fender Flares
    Hood Scoop
120 Volt (400 Watt) Cargo Bed Power Outlet, TRD Decals, Fog Lamps,
Front & Rear Bilstein Shock Absorbers
    Garage Door Opener
    Integrated Signal Lamps
Delete Front Passenger Fold-Down Seat Back
    Leather Seat Surfaces

It sounds like someone swapped out the suspension with the lift kit and the wheels.

Makes me wonder how many "TRD Sport" packages did they really have! My 13' TRD Sport does not have heated seats and I wish it did. I have not looked into adding aftermarket stuff, but I do know my buddies 3rd gen heated seats have had problems since he bought it new. He has a 2017 off road
