For a completely unbiased assessment you really should consider asking this question in the Gen2 forum.

Not trying to be a jerk here... but the honest answer is "it depends"...

It depends on where you live - climate, rain, snow, ice, sand, salt, heat, cold, can all take a toll on different parts of the truck...
It depends on how you drive - are you heavy on the pedals, are you a speed demon, do you drive mostly highway, mostly city, flat terrain, hilly terrain, mountainous terrain...
It depends on where you drive - all well-maintained paved roads, rough roads, dirt roads, forestry trail, two-tracks, no roads (off-roading) - where you drive can make significant differences
It depends on what you do to the truck - do you keep it all stock, do you heavily mod, especially adding weight or adjusting the suspension geometry
It depends on where you park it - are you in a garage 100% of the time, in a parking lot, under an overhang - those factors can drive things like paint and body conditions over time
It depends on if you're hauling or towing significant loads on a regular basis
It also depends some on "luck" - some manufacturing problems won't be seen for while - sometimes the above factors can combine and exacerbate a problem that happened during manufacturing and/or assembly.

Several sites are using 300,000 miles (ToyotaDirect Blogs, VehicleHistory.Com, MotorAndWheels.Com). One site MotorBiscuit.Com is using the number 235,070 and sourcing that from iSeeCars.Com....

Like I said, not trying to be a jerk, but mileage and lifetime of a Taco will vary, sometimes significantly from truck to truck, even in similar conditions, similar maintenance, and similar use. I think what can be said is that the Tacoma is a solidly reliable truck built for a long, usable lifespan.

Hard to say. Luckily for you, you have a later model and so a lot of the kinks have already been worked out.

I drive over 25k per year (32k last year) and finally had my first major repairs done. None of my issues caused any drivability issues or codes to come on and were actually found by the dealership during routine service. However, they seemed to be more common on the early models (mine was built in October of 2016) and my extended warranty covered it all.

There are accounts of 300k 3rd gens out there. But for most people, even the early 3rd gens haven't been around long enough to get that high in mileage. The average miles driven in the US per year per person is 13,500. Based on that, even 2016 models should be averaging less than 100k right now.

I'm at 107k, for what it is worth. I purchased it in 2020 at 14k.

Your chances to get in accident are high. One rear-end event can't total the truck any day.

    Here you go...

The lifespan of a vehicle can vary depending on various factors, including maintenance, driving conditions, and individual driving habits. However, Toyota vehicles, including the Tacoma, are generally known for their durability and longevity.

Assuming proper maintenance and care, it is not uncommon for a Toyota Tacoma to last well over 200,000 miles. Many owners have reported their Tacomas reaching 300,000 miles or more with regular maintenance and timely repairs.

Keep in mind that regular maintenance, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and timely repairs, is crucial to ensure the longevity of any vehicle. Following the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule and addressing any issues promptly can significantly extend the life of your Toyota Tacoma.

“The lifespan of a vehicle can vary depending on various factors, including maintenance, driving habits, and environmental conditions. With proper maintenance and care, a 2022 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road 4x4 can potentially last well over 200,000 miles or more before major repairs become necessary. Regularly following the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and inspections, can help ensure the longevity of your vehicle. Additionally, practicing good driving habits and avoiding harsh conditions can further contribute to its durability.”

    That’s what it said.

My 99 4Runner had 205,000 before my daughter rolled it. She and her friends walked away with no injuries.
