    Hey guys,

I’m a college student with a 2012 Tacoma. I bought it in 2014 at 40k miles and it has 63k miles currently. I guess I’m just wondering, with proper maintenance of course, how long these things can last. I love my truck and have no intention of getting rid of it soon. I want it to last a long time. So far all I have replaced are tires, oil regularly and have done the 30k mile plug replacement and flush. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

Do a search for mileage threads.

    You will not be disappointed.

My 2005 has over 510,000 kilometres on the odometer.

Not fake news, just love the truck and want it to last haha. I know Tacoma’s have a reputation for lasting a while. Thanks for the reply.

Probably different for everybody. Mine is a 13 with 107k miles. I drive the crap out of it, tow, 4x, everything. Runs like a champ. All I’ve done is dealer suggested services every 5000 miles. Only issue I’ve had is the heater core went out at 100k. I haven’t fixed that yet.

Just keep doing what you are doing. Miles dont mean much to our Tacos.

Father in law has a 2010 that has 450K for what its worth.

Almost 82K on my 2010 RC 5-lug, which I've had since new...

Unscheduled repairs have included master cylinder in February 2014, A/C recharge in June 2017, and complete front brake replacement last month...

I also got hit by a drunk old man in a 2002 Mercedes back in October 2015; Benz was totaled and Tacoma had like $2,600 in damage...

So yeah, I'd say it's been a pretty solid truck, in more ways than one!

189k miles on my taco CCLB v6 4x4 SR5 with tow package

replaced steering rack, PS hoses and lower steering shaft
    u joints
    front brakes
    head lights
    fog lights
    cab light
    tail light
    air filter
    pass wheel bearing
cheap dino oil and filter every 5k
    rear leaf recall

that's all I have done and the rack and bearing issue might have been premature since it was side swiped by an 18 wheeler trailer and slammed a curb side ways breaking passenger LCA

I bought my 09 with 19,000 miles and it now has about 130,000. I've had to replaced ujoints a couple times, I had to replace the front wheel bearings, and my heat shields underneath have rotted off but no other major problems. That's not bad IMO. I'm having my frame looked at and hopefully replaced so that should extend my time with this at least another 100,000 miles.

My 01 was at 198,000 when I traded it in for my 09 and I still got $4000 for trade in value.

I'd expect a well cared for 2nd gen Tacoma purchased with 100,000 miles on it to outlast most new cars purchased at the same time.

I had 181k when it was totaled and would have probably gotten another 120 out of it. Redid the headlights with an HID projector retrofit, Toyota replaced the leaf springs, both in 2016. I also had the spiral cable replaced when I bought the truck in 2014.
