They had me drop the truck off this morning to get the TSB leaf springs done (old TSB) and said it'll probably be done by the end of the day tomorrow, or worst-case scenario, it may bleed into Monday.

Is it just me or should this not be taking so long? I feel like I could do it in about 3 or 4 hours taking my sweet time.

Not mad, they gave me a loaner, but just confused.

The only explanation I can justify is that they just don't know when exactly they can get to it?

    What do you think TW?

Disclaimer: I think I'm just excited to get the truck back because my 5100's will arrive today

Mine just took 4 hours. Don't get too excited. The springs still suck.

Shrug. Not necessarily unreasonable. Depends on how many of these jobs they've got getting dropped off compared to how many techs they've got doing them.

Usually depends on other vehicle there. What usually happens is you drop off you truck and there 5 other trucks there that are waitin to get into the shop also. Then you have other cars that got held over from the night before gettin finished up then you have the less than capable tech fishing through the pile of work to find the easy ones. Then finally when yout truck makes it in later during the day they rwalize they have to order parts that wont come in till the next day. Parts wont get delivered till midday so by the time parts arive the tech,is in the middle if another job. So once he finishes and get you truck back in and starts the work its aleady quittin time and has to finish it the following morning.

I agree kinof a crappy situation but that is just how any repair shop is goin to operate. Yes the job alone is somewhat easy and quick to finish but your vehicle is not the only one there for repairs

I hope they are at least an upgrade. I mostly wanted them for the extra 1" or so of lift and better ride under a load...they HAVE to be better than the factory 3-leaf pack.

Yeah, I thought about that, too. That dealer is always busy, no matter when I go there.

Sounds like you've had some bad experiences! I understand there is some lag involved with lead time and parts and stuff, but they *SHOULD* have everything there since they had to order stuff last week.

I'll just try to stay positive and wait patiently.

They are marginally better under load until they go flat with the rest of the spring pack. It'll hold you over for a while but you'll soon be looking into better options. Which there are plenty of for not a huge $$ outlay.

Ya im a technician so im on the other side of this

Usually things happen quickly and 2 to 3 days for leafs is pretty ridiculous

Unless you can get a real dead time there; tsb's will always come after full paying customers; esp the ones (like me recently) who need a starter pronto. Full price of course or have to pay to tow it later. More $$ for the dealer, tsb's to the rear of the line.

Picked it up today and got my 5100's on the front to level it out. What a day! Thanks TW!
