I have bilstein 5100’s with 884’s and I feel like they are shot. I’ve had them for about 4 or 5 years. Lots of Offroad use in the first couple years. Put it this way, I ran a set of 255/85/16 km2’s bald in one years time. Ran hard every weekend at that point, but less off roads use in the last two years, maybe once a month.

I want to buy better coilovers, but I want to get what I can out of what I got. Think they are ready to replace at this point?

I can't speak as to the longevity of the shocks you currently have, but if you are looking for new options, Fox does offer Truck Suspension Service for rebuild and revalve. They also have a list of dealers in their network that are authorized to do so:

May also be worth sending a message to @AccuTune Offroad for further advice.

Shear stability in oil is dependent on use. You could wear out a set of shocks racing the Baja 1000 or 60,000 miles of commuting. I had 70k on my OME setup and definitely felt it was about time. If you think they're done, well they probably are

I've run Toytec coilovers with 5100s for 60K with no issues yet. I don't think it's how many miles as much as how hard you work them. Running a Baja race is more abusive than crawling Moab for example. Push down on the corners of your bumpers and then quickly release, if it bounces a lot then it's time.

Buy new shit. Wait times are insane, so if you find something in stock consider it as good fortune and buy it. If you don't find anything in stock, consider it looking out for future you and buy it anyways

I think Icon recommends rebuild of their shocks at 30,000.

dont 5100's have a lifetime warranty through Bilstein

not that it's best to run for life and keep replacing with same, as opposed to upgrade
it's a pretty cheap basic entry level shock

    that is rebuildable
    5100 is welded shut
