I have a 2015 TRD Sport and after work today it would not start. Had to jump it. Is this four plus year old battery at the end of its life or do I need to look at other things. Belt, Alternator. How long did you go with your factory battery.

3 years. Get the battery tested but I’d guess the alternator is fine on a 2015.

I had mine for 4 or 5 years before my dealer started telling me it was going bad. I had a jump pack, so I let it go for another few years. Eventually even installed some house batteries, leaving me with two extra batteries to jump myself from at the push of the button. Finally got a new starting battery early this year, so the battery was almost 8 years old. Couldn't leave my 4 way flashers on for 15 minutes without it killing my battery. No clue how it started my battery at all by that point :)

No, I'm not suggesting anyone do this. I've since read about how bad batteries can be harmful to alternators and such.

I replaced mine with an Interstate battery last winter. It was still starting the truck but a few load tests were marginal. Im always up in the woods hiking around, didn't want to risk getting stranded so i replaced it.

1 month after factory 3yr bumper to warranty on my truck. Just up and poof quit one day. Jumped it with my jumper pack, drove to Walmart, grabbed an everstart Maxx 24F (slightly smaller than the 27F that the truck came with) a replaced it in the parking lot n called it good

I have a date code of 7/15 on my oem battery and it's still going. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to replace it soon though.
Oem battery from my 2011 died in about a year though and replaced under warranty. I guess it's hit or miss.

Check your water in the cells, I check mine every 3 months or so and the 2 cells close to the terminals are always low, I fill them with distilled water to the appropriate level and put on a smart charger.

I replaced the factory battery in my 2010 after 5 years but it was fine at time of replacement. It will be time to replace the replacement in 2020.

I've been using a battery insulator as I partly live in Nevada with constant 100+ degrees.
So far all of our batteries have been good.

7/16 Toyota battery in my 15. Still strong, 4 year old no name batt in the 99 runner, strong. 07 R1 ballistic Lipo4 battery, not run in 1.5 years, battery at least 5 years old. Still has power to run a sys check and turn over once.

Texas summers, Seattle winters, CA whatever.
It ain’t a problem with the battery folks.

The first battery in my truck lasted < 1 year. The dealership in Surprise swapped it out during one of my oil visits (20k I believe). The new battery has been fine for just over 2 more years to this point (2017 truck bought at the end of 2016). I also moved out of the heat, so that might have something to do with it.
