How long did you wait to debadge your truck?

I know there has got to be a point where it's too late, the paint has faded a bit and de-badging would look really bad. How long did you wait? My truck was purchased new in April 13', I got it certified-used in Jan 14'.

I'm still on the fence whether I want to do it or not. Between the badging, TRD stickers and the Leer stickers on my soon-to-be new shell, it's almost logo overload.

Also, any suggestions for the easiest method for doing it?

I ditched the V6 right off for a TRD badge... Then the more I saw the Pro's with only the TRD badge on the tailgate the more I liked it, so I did that a few weeks ago. I like the emblems on the sides, and dipped mine black.

My White taco is an 08 and I just debadged my truck about 2 months ago with no noticeable difference in paint fade. You should be fine.

I did a few years after new with no signs of fade on silver paint, but darker colors may have more chance of noticeable fade.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
I took mine off a week after I got the truck.

    Thanks for the answers guys...

Did you just use fishing line and some solvent to take the sticky part off? I watched some youtube videos, seems pretty straight forward

I used fishing line and a little bit of simple green with a rag. The whole process is pretty quick.

I just used dental floss and a blow dryer. Buffed it out afterwards just to be on the safe side.

Bought my silver '06 last year, de-badged & de-decal-ed the week I got it. No signs of it ever having it. Buffed out the paint to smooth out all the way around though. Years of driving and washing alone will leave swirl marks etc. Hair dryer and fishing line trick works great to remove everything.

Mine's an 08 with over 90k miles.. I just debadged mine last night after previously painting them, and there's really nothing paint wise that I could notice. Definitely makes a nice smooth look.

Did it when the truck was about 2 years old. Always parked outside and in the sun, but there was no noticeable fading around the emblems. Used fishing line (...wrap the ends around a couple pieces of dowel, like you're making a garrote. It's easier on the fingers). Used 'Goo Gone' to remove the residue.

Next day after bringing it home the badges were off. My tailgate was litered with them, bugged the crap out of me. Really I needed a badge reminding me I have a V6

Took those tailgate badges off and then moved on to the ones stuck on the doors. After that I ditched the stiff plastic mud flaps that looked stupid to me.
