Got my 2022 about six weeks ago and I have the TRD auto shift knob. I don't know what's different about it. Sure, it says TRD, but doesn't light up, have an eject button or do anything special.
What does a regular auto shift knob look like?
What exactly did I get for my $140.

Hey red stitching too! Slightly more worthless than the TRD Pro Cold Air Intake, on par with the TRD Pro oil cap

You mean...one of these? I paid $89 including shipping for mine.

It's got a solid feel and is handsome looking. Maybe not for everyone but I like it.

The non-TRD auto shift knob is squishy, so it doesn't feel as precise rowing through the +/- gate in S mode.

Spending money on things you'll touch every few minutes is OK. I spent 10,000 yen on my JDM shift knob shipped from Osaka...

Yeah, that's what mine is. Pretty sure my window sticker was $140 for it.
Thanks for the pic of the standard one. I tried to look on the Toyota site, seems they only show interior pics with the TRD knob.

I can force downshifts with the automatic, which is all the benefit you get with a manual :poking:

I haven't tried this method of downshifting. It's just me but I don't want to put that stress on the transmission...just my opinion.

My transmission is starting to lunge at times when I take her out of Park...good thing the brake is pressed to get out of gear. A firm press is all that's needed to "whoa" the engine/trans. lol
