How do you reset the Maintence Required light? (make it go away)

As the title states, I want the Maintenance Required light (orange exclamation point in triangle that appears in speedometer dash) to go away. It appears every 5,000 miles.

I've seen a service advisor simply push the Odometer button (the "stick" that protrudes out of the dash plastic) in some sequence to reset it. I just don't know what the sequence is.

I'm sure some of you DIY know the trick. Thanks.

 

There's a maintenance reset option in the last menu. That should do it

 

Just being a smart ass, but doesn’t anyone ever rtfm anymore? Or even easier, google?

 

Even better, just download the owners manual to your phone and do a search when you need info..............self-help is always faster.

 

Throw the battery away

 

Just drive the next 5000 miles in reverse. The light will go off on its own as the odometer unwinds.

You are describing the look (triangle) of the master warning light, found on page 513 and 519 of your manual

The Maintenance Required light is just a square that says Maint Reqd. described on page 514. Reset instructions are on page 441.

 

Change the oil.

 

OCIs are 10k.

The 5k reminder is for other maintenance items, like tire rotations.
