How do you guys secure your Yeti coolers, in the bed of your Taco's?

After going through numerous Coleman and Igloo coolers, I finally purchased a Yeti Tundra 65 quart. I have wanted one for a few years but couldn't talk myself into sinking that kind of cash into a cooler. I had the handle break off my week old Igloo Marine cooler yesterday and finally said screw it. Now with that being said, how are you guys securing yours in the beds of your Tacos? I also picked up the Yeti lock and bracket kit that comes with a cable lock. I didn't know if thats what you guys were using? If so, are you just running it through the bed tiedowns closet to the tailgate? Thanks for any input I can get.

*Note - please don't reply telling me that I'm crazy for spending that kind of money in a cooler, that I shouldn't leave it in the back of my truck, or that if someone wants it bad enough they will get it , etc.

I don't think you're crazy. I'd love to have a Yeti cooler, and will someday. Last week at the NRA banquet I was bidding on a Yeti 45, after the bidding past $650, I gave up. There was a $100 seafood package included.
    Enjoy it!

PapaSpeed, thank you! Also, the Morgan Silver Dollar is my favorite coin. I just can't get enough of them.

Used existing tie downs and pushed it against the tailgate with the strap. My bed is usually packed when I leave for a trip so it's a nice snug / tight fit.

I don't think you are crazy at all. It's hard to find an ice chest (other than a yeti) that will keep ice fresh in 2 days which is usually the length of trips I take. Mine was stolen as well but I basically got it for free.

Off thread topic but I am about to get the same size as a gift.
Would be awesome if you could post a few pics of it in your bed so I can see if it is too big/small etc
    :)

I bought long shackle padlocks for both lock holes. I bought a length of hot dip galvanized chain. I loop the chain through the front tie down on the driver's side, and shackle both free ends to the lock nearest the front. Need to make sure shackles are long enough to fit chain as well.

My setup has the cooler opening facing the driver's side of the bed for easy access. The padlock has the keyhole facing skyward. The Master Lock Magnum padlocks have not had any issues against weather and unlock like new. Had this setup for 2 years. Cooler lives in the bed of the truck all the time.

The cooler stays mostly put. If I need to tie it down when offroad, I just use straps. Day to day that's not any issue, if the chain is short enough.

Thanks! So much I have googled everywhere trying to find pics of that size in our truck bed.

Call me lucky but my wife is buying me one for our anniversary. She can't keep a secret and spilt the beans.

OEM roof rack, Shorty antenna (eBay), soft tonneau cover, K&N drop in air filter, bed mat, interior LED lights, 5100's, MT tires to come soon!!!
I always lock it in with the cable through the bed D-ring, and with my bed mat in the Yeti does not seem to move much. Off topic but I strapped my Yeti to my 4 wheeler rack a couple weeks ago and it so nice not having your ice chest always moving around on the rack and you can strap it down and still open the lid without unstrapping it!

I have an Engel. Not a yeti, but held ice all week in Moab. I think they are just as good and considerably less money. I used a lock like the one the OP has when I was on my way out to Moab. Just used a ratchet when I was out wheeling.

We sell Engels now on our website and can offer up a coupon code for better pricing. If anyone is interested just PM me. We only have a few sizes online, but can get all of them. We are going to do and Engel and Yeti shootout sometime this summer, and video it all. Should be interesting.

Here is a picture of it in my bed while out wheeling.

Do the Engels have the option to have decals, different colors or logos like Yeti?
    I want mine customized.

I have two Yetis (50 & 110) and I always slip the end of a heavy steel cable loop onto one of the cooler's corner padlocks. Slap another lock on the other end and lock that to the truck. They can still be stolen, but someone's going to have to dick with it first (plus have tools) which will hopefully either deter them, or at least slow them down increasing the chance of getting caught. I'm also planning to pick up the 20 qt Yeti to carry on the quad. Expensive yes, but I can't say enough good things about their quality and ability to hold ice.
