Anyone know the easiest way to tap into the 12vdc wire for the trailer hitch wiring? Preferably from the 7-pin connector harness. I'm trying to wire up some truck bed lights and want to run it from the constant power wire. Anything else I need to know when tapping into that wire please let me know, thanks guys!

I've got a 2014 with the 7-pin trailer wiring connector. It contains crimp pins which are a pain in the ass to remove. I'm not sure if the 2016 uses the same connector. If it does you can either splice into the harness before the wire(s) you need go into the 7-pin connector or just replace the 7-pin connector with one which uses screw terminals. The screw terminals will make it much easier to connect the additional wire(s) you'll need for the bed lights. When I added auxiliary reverse lights had I known how difficult it was going to be to get two crimp pins out of the 7-pin connector housing I would have gladly spent the $15 bucks on a screw terminal type connector and saved myself the frustration.

I am thinking you mis stated what your trying to do.

You want these extra light to be on all the time ?? Constant Power !!

You want the lights on switched power ?/

You want them on with the head lights ?? If this is the case just splice into the marker light circuit how ever is the easy way for you .

Myself I make the splice just behind the left tail light even though heat shrink and a solder connection are used it keeps it out of the weather somewhat

I'm guessing the OP wants to install a switch in the bed to control the bed lights. That's a reason I can think of for pulling constant power from the trailer harness for this job. I run power to my bed lights from the fuse panel behind the dash coin tray through a dash mounted switch (my bed lights only draw 120 milliamps and the switch is rated for 3 amps).
