I just purchased my first Tacoma. It's an 07 extended cab, TRD. I love everything about it except the fake chrome rain guards on the windows. I want to take them off but after looking closely I realized they are attached to the body with some form of double-sided tape or adhesive. What's the best way to remove these things without ruining the paint or damaging the exterior?

A friend of mine suggested I use a heat gun but I'm hesitant to try since I don't really know what I'm doing. Any help would be great! Thanks!

you can doa few things.. heat will help the adhesive loosed.. if you have a heat gun great if now a blow dryer on high should do fine! you can also use fishing line if it still doesnt want to come apart. hope this helps

and if you do use a heat gun just be carefull you dont need too much heat. the tape just has to be warm.. once you get it off any residue left you can just kind of roll off with your thumb then use a goo-gone pruduct thats safe on paint and clean it up!
