I just got a great deal for some reservoir shocks on marketplace and want to get the most travel out of them on the back of my 15 Tacoma. I don’t know much about lift geometry in the rear and hope this forum can help me out. The specs are as follows
    Stock shocks
    Collapsed Length: 13.98 in / 355 mm
    Extended Length: 22.94 in / 582.7 mm
    8.96 travel

    7100 12” short body
    Collapsed Length: 16.03
    Extended Length: 28.06
    12.03 travel

    2.05 loss of up travel

I want to lift the back 1.5 to 2 inches and want to keep stock or better than stock up travel. What is seems to me like my options are id:
Raise the shock mounts 2 inches
    Or
    2 inch lifted leaf pack
Will either of these two routes let me utilize all 12” of travel in these new shocks?
I had a guy tell me I need to do both to optimize travel, also I have looked into relocation kits but they are all for atleast 18” collapsed shocks. Thank you so much for your responses.

You need to relocate the shock mounts for 12" shocks so moving them is correct. You could get Archives to relocate mounts, which is likely the most straightforward but still requires you to remove stock ones. Both shocks would then both face the same direction vs stock with is opposing sides. He has 2" version and 2.5 versions.

You will also want to run a different leaf pack here. min add a leaf but i would go with a new leaf pack if your going with longer rear shocks.

this is the relocation kit I was referring to, it’s listed for 18” shocks minimum, I would assume I would have to put the bottom bracket at such I high angle to fit it wouldn’t really be convenient. Am I wrong?
