How did your dog get his or her name?

Just curious as to how everyone came about naming their dogs? My was named by my son's favourite soccer player .Beckham.

My dogs names are Butzi and Turbo. Both my wife and I are big Porsche fans. Butzi was the nickname of Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche, the designer of the 911.

 

Love the eyes.

 

Thor and Chloe. Really have no clue as to why I named them what I did.

 

Paisley and kona... The names just came to us ! Lol

Spicey on the left, and Tiger on the right. Tiger had much more defined brindle stripes when he was younger, so hubby thought the name was apt. Spicey just happened to have that name coming from the pound, so we kept it. She's kind of grown into it. And speaking of names, I'm going to be posting a new thread to ask for some help naming a new addition!

 

This is Hiccup. We had about a 2 hour ride home from the breeder. Poor guy had a terrible case of the hiccups on the way home.

I was cleaning house and tired of his big butt getting in the way. I made him place on the couch, so he's was pouting

 

This is a very young Aston. I like cars so he gets a car name.

 

Dozer:

(like Bull Dozer)

As a puppy from day one he would run up to his water bowl and put his paws in pushing it all over the patio. And for some reason stands in his water bowl as he drinks for maximum getting me and my wife wet afterward.

 

Sir Baron Von Wolfgang. He's German so he needed a German name !

We call him Wolfgang for short.

 

Here's Oscar, I chose that name simply because I liked it. He's a 105lb German Shepard/Black Lab mix. My best friend and companion. He suffers from the "looking fat when he sits down" problem as you can tell. He's a large dog and that's an extra large harness around him..

 

The brown one her name is vegas, why? Because shes naughty.
The boston his name is dutch because my wife and I were drinking dutch bros coffe when we got him and it just stuck so now everytime we get coffee and hes with us they fill are stamp cards.
German shepard mix is may it was the month when we picked her up

 

Wiley Coyote! Goes by Wiley, Wiley Coyote when he's in trouble (or being adorable so any time).

Mainly because he's crazy but also because he looks like Wile E. Coyote.

Her name is Samantha like Samantha from I Am Legend so I can say, Gotta go Sam!

 

His full name is "Sir Francis Beauregard".

Basically because he is a Brittany Spaniel, better known as just "Brittany"; they were originally bred out of Brittany, France. Beauregard means "handsome face/gaze", which is rather fitting.

Because his heritage hails from France I named him the French name.

"Sir Francis" is what my wife calls him when he's in trouble. I just call him "Beau", "Beau Dog" or "Bubba Doh".

 

Parker cause he like to park himself like that on your feet. and camie cause she is camouflage merle

 

God I love that movie, but hate 'that' scene.
