To this point all I've done is adding a Reece class 4 receiver so I can pull my boat. Probably going to add a tool box and maybe some wheels at some point.
How can I tell which sub-model Tacoma I own? Every time I try to order something or buy something at the parts store, they ask. I know that it's not a TRD. There's no decal (Sr, etc) and there's nothing on the title. I'm assuming it's a base model with some optional stuff on it.

    Thank you

No fog lights and grill indicate you have an SR, but the vin check would confirm. If you have a key fob with remote lock/unlock, then it has the convenience package too.

Previous owner or reseller swapped out the rims, those are from older model toyotas, but they look good and makes yours unique.

Come post your truck in the SR thread! https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-sr-thread-lets-see-them.411453/

I had those exact rims on my 07 sport. Till I swopped up.

I agree with Tirps. Those rims make your truck look great, and because they are g2 rims on a g3 taco I can guarantee you that your truck is unique!!!

On this forum you just need to post a side and front pic of your truck and the folks here can figure it out.

Thanks to one and all! I'm really enjoying the truck, but I wonder why it has 2007 wheels on it? There's some pitting on three of the wheels that has my OCD in overdrive, so I've been debating about replacing them. Wheels and a toolbox are the only changes I'm planning on right now.

Two likely ideas on the different wheels: 1)Previous owner liked the 2gen wheels on the truck, so picked up a set for his truck. or 2) Previous owner had aftermarket wheels he decided to keep for his new ride, or to sell separately, and got these 2gens cheap to put on for the sale.

The truck would have likely had steelies from the factory, so I agree the previous owner ditched those for something else. That something else may have been the current set, but I agree, more likely had a nicer set and threw these on just to sell/trade. If tires are pretty worn, they were probably just thrown on to trade in.

@TN Vols Fan when you end up looking for new rims, any toyota 6 lug/5.5in bolt pattern will fit. You could do 16" or 17" if you're getting new tires as well. Should be able to find a good set of takeoffs from a tacoma or 4runner under $500 on facebook, craigslist or the parts marketplace here.

Thank you for the advice. Before my Dodge, I owned a lifted Jeep JK. It's one of the three vehicles from my past that I wish I still owned. Anyway, it had steel off road wheels called "Rock Crawlers" on it, black in color. I thought about getting something like those if I decide on new wheels. Not sure how well they would look on a 2WD though?

It is possible the previous owner had the 2007 wheels on hand and wanted to take the steel wheels that came on the SR off. See page 20 of this PDF for a picture of the stock SR wheels.
